Kes-es and Grumblex have some really decent tunes out there, amongst many others of course.

Re: Process for writing the second half of a tune
I struggle with this as well. Try bringing in a new melody, changing up chord sequences slightly, changing the drums around a bit (see sig tune - Think I did all three in the second part). Song structure is definitely my biggest weakness when writing a tune though.

some might say it can help with workflow as it makes to commit to a sound more and stops you going back and endlessly tweaking the synth.£10 Bag wrote:Saves CPU and lets you see the waveform. That's about it really.

Re: Deadmau5 has confused me
its when you record the output of a channel. MIDI contains no audio, its just tells a synth what to do.zawmbee wrote:Bounce? I don't understand that term D:DJ Crackle wrote:Are you referring to... like a bass stem track?
Just bounce it down, re-import.
Is that when you convert an MIDI into an Audio track?

Re: Volume Levels in a Track
wouldnt worry about your track sounding to quiet at this stage anyway. Keep your levels low enough to leave plenty of headroom and turn your speakers up. What you are asking about is the mixing stage of a track so dont worry if it sounds quiet. You can do your own mastering at this stage with some c...

Re: Traktor s4 sound card
as far as I can tell from NI's website yes you can, however I couldnt be 100% sure. I would advice contacting NI to ask directly if no one else on here knows.justanotherdj wrote:Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting the traktor s4. I was just wondering if I could use it as a soundcard for production on logic as well?

Re: A different resampling question
a step by step guide could help for a specific sound, for example a reese. But when its such a broad question asking about resampling it seems to me its more the fx chain process and how the effects sound that are being asked about, rather than the uses of it. infact... give me like a run through of...

Re: A different resampling question
I think you should just read up on, and try out different types of fx. Resampling is not some sort of holey grail to make good sounds. IMO its more for simply saving cpu if you have a long fx chain. It also means your committed to the sound and hopefully will increase your workflow because your not...

Re: samples vs. vst's / software instruments in production?
both have there place. Personally I guess a prefer using synths, for stuff like pads and bass lines but for drums I always use samples. Actually the only things I really use samples for are drums and a few incidentals, and vox and the rare occasion I use them.
