Hi I'm looking to move to Seattle in about a year, just wondering what the dubstep world is like out there. I'm a veteran DJ out here in Buffalo and would love to bring my sound out to Seattle. Please no negativity, I don't really give a shit. I've opened for Joe Nice, I've opened for Excision. I sort of just play a diverse style of dubstep for many diff types of shows. Cheers!

Seattle dubstep is all but non existent at this point in time, once Shift ended there were no 100% dubstep events anymore. Its all multi genre shows now if you want dubstep at all and typically all bro. Trap is dominant right now and it seems jugle/footwork is making some waves and deeper dnb seems to be making a bit of resurgence. Dubtek, myself and a couple others still push the good shit but there are little to no events to play or attend. There were six people on the floor for Ntype in December and it was promoted pretty heavily and included Dubtek and myself on the bill. Its a sad sad state of affairs. I may be letting the cat out of the bag a bit here, but we, Shift, plan on doing at least one reunion/anniversary show very soon, working on a finding a headliner which we guarantee will not be any bro shite. I cant really think of any shows that intentionally put on new djs in town, we used to do it at Shift all the time but now its so hard to find dubstep shows its very competitive and unfortunately who you know ends up going a long way. Good luck! add me on facebook and when you get into town I can try to help you make some contacts or shows/promoters to keep an eye on etc.
