Ohh.. and btw.

If your ears are ringing after an exposure to loud music, that IS the sound of the cochlear being damaged. That is the #1 sign that you are on the way to hearing loss.

One of the most famous musicians to ever experience hearing loss, that comes to my mind, is Pete Townsend of The Who. He always said that the loud concerts they played caused his loss. Recently he is saying that it was the use of headphones in the studio. And also that head phones in general are the major culprit in hearing loss.

He also mentions that in this day and age of ipods and earbuds, people are being exposed to high and long levels of noise without noticing is so much.
