I think Coki has the recipe for this - he's a member here too I think...

Srsly now doe: viewtopic.php?p=544536

Bass = FM in FL, in short.

And listen to Coki.

Hmm, that thread seems to be based around reason. Would there be any way to do this in massive?

FM for the metallic ringy artifacts, otherwise... Subtractive synthesis could work alternately. Layered & detuned square & saws maybe, some chorusing centered around the midrange of choice, resonance... there may be as much as two or more octaves between waveforms, with the higher one carrying the metallic ring.

TBH I thought it was a preset in some synths already. Massive can do pretty much anything anyway. This sound isn't rocket science (not to be demeaning.) There are a ton of discussions on Coki bass out there however.

Most of the "riddim producers" nowadays swapped to reason because its easier to do this stuff in there!
But for real its very possible in massive as the dude said ^^
Square waves, a chorus or phaser done right
Also a nice comb filter sweep will help as well
