is this 'good wobble'?
yeah, I like it stately
made the thread worthwhile to some extent
cos Pistoff was up against it from the start
but i reckon it's worth trying to reinstate the good name of wobble
after the piles of dross from past few years
glad you liked it that actually means a lot considering other tunes posted in this thread
my only complaint about 'the wobble' is the same complaint that happens with all these musical trends (esp. synth techniques in dance music) ...
- first its new and just using the sound is enough to impress people
- next everyone jumps on it and you get a lot of new ideas loosely based around the initial one, some good, lots bad, lots of misguided imitations
- very soon its over-used and everyone is so sick of hearing it they switch off to anything with a wobble in it, good or bad!
but eventually things balance out and its just another tool to your arsenal then, just like an Amen, 808 kick bass or a reese... to be used appropriately when it fits. now newer trends like the wobble... then the transformer sounds etc. do seem to be going through that cycle quicker and quicker and maybe that's a good thing?
