thanks.
I am not trying steal credit here, as none of this work is mine.
So don't get me wrong.
I just like to do things in a certain way, if i can.
And if i do some work compiling, i don't mind other people benefiting as well. As those who give deserve to receive in return.
Thought i may try and quickly knock out a basic booklet, that contains a few sections.
Starting with an introduction (wikipedia definition of dubstep)
followed by sections on the main aspects and components:
Equipment (hardware, software)
Samples and Sound Design Synthesis (i.e. Bass, clank etc.)
Composition Structure (?)
(Midi) musical Programming
Mixdown (effects/signal processors)
Mastering
Labels and Scene Names (not me)
Note, booklet not containing everything you need as this would take ages and i certainly haven't got the time.
The booklet will be aimed at people who already have at least a basic understanding and hands on experience of home studio equipment.
I recommend that people who do not have this level of experience will have to read a book or two.
Perhaps a book on producing by Paul
and the Dance Music Manual by Rick Snowman as although its not the best source of programming, it will certainly do as a primer.

Seriously, do it mate!

Found some user guides for Reason (Thor, Subtractor, Malstrom and NN-XT)
http://www.airtones.net/rug/sub.html
Very helpful in understanding what's what (even describes every wave type in Subtractor).

I have yet to locate anything with information on how to actually start and apply all that is being discussed in this thread...
Maybe if someone had a FL tutorial link?

Welcome to DSF!
Glad to hear that you've been reading the production bibles etc.
If you're after tutorials, have you tried Google/youtube for 'fl studio tutorials'?
Check out the Imageline website directly. Maybe they have a forum dedicated to FL users?
In the meantime, here are two good places to start!
http://www.flstudio-tutorials.com/
http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?h ... 5&ct=title#
Happy producin'!

There's other ones with Maelstrom (Reason) instructions on YouTube. Fun bass to make, always wondered how to do this.[/u]

Still on the job.
Been working backwards dl all threads apart from nonsense and tracks to listen to.
Started at page 54,
now on page 20.
Hopefully get through the next 20 pages in the next few days.
I guess once I have finished, i will have to post an auditor note for future reference (so can continue to reconcile at a later date).
Anyway, will continue to dl.
Will keep everyone updated.
Good stuff
I appreciate that it takes lots of time and patience!
Thanks!
