Distance is by far one of the best in the scene.
Fuck off with the "what direction is it gonna take" thing. The series has always been nicely varied between different styles from each volume to each volume and Distance smashes the style that he does and is easily varied enough to do a good mix cd. What he plays is also very much a core style of dubstep and he is one of the longer running figures too. I can't see what the problem could be.

distance is OG in the scene. one of the first producers i really got into and still a favorite.
volume 8 is gonna be big!

Wicked!!! distance is a pioneer of the sound , i think they r keepin it true to the roots of the sound , just how i like it!!!!!

I definitely liked both mixes, but I always viewed dubstep allstars as more of a swan-song or ode to really key players in the scene, not certain developing sounds. Allstars 7 just seemed like a deviation from that pattern.

For all those to the contrary, have you realized this may be THE only chance we'll get of getting a release of the Distance Changes Remix?
I've never bought a DSA CD, although bootlegs of Vol 4 and then 2 were passed to me and it actually what go me into it in the first place. But I'll definitely bag this one. ETA on these anyway? I take it will be here after the Youngsta mixed CD, which will give me a bit of breathing room.
Edit: Also if Tunnidge passes him the Puppet Master remix he did!

I was about to post without reading the thread and say Distance should do it, and then I see he is doing it!
Absolutely huge news, probably the last big name that hasn't done a mix CD.
Youngsta - Rinse
Distance - Dubstep Allstars
Could be two of the biggest mixes for a while.
LOL at the people saying about the direction, there aren't as many people with as much access to dubs as Distance.
I reckon it'll be full of ridiculous exclusives

If you're going to use 'big language', you should read the entire post before you start wanking. Nobody ever said there was a problem with Distance doing the mix. And that "direction" thing might just be the most essential thing in music? Staleness leads to lack of creativity and basically means the end of a genre. Dubstep Allstars, through several periods, has always been the benchmark for Dubstep and its evolution. Look at Ramadanman taking the helms on the previous edition mixing with new sounds coming in. Arguably one of the best mixes yet.
I also never said Distance couldn't play diverse sets. I'm just saying that his
usual sets have a certain (
good) vibe. Dark and old school : we all love it. But dubstep isn't limited to that any more. It would be cool if he takes this into account. If he doesn't, fair play : it will be a good mix with undoubtedly a lot of dubplates. I still think it would be a shame if the benchmark mix series of dubstep doesn't take this opportunity to branch out, in whatever way that might be.
I can't see anything wrong or offensive towards Distance by that comment. It i'snt even useless complaining (unlike some here), It's a fair suggestion. So don't start stroking each other yet.
