i really don't buy all this drake bandwagoning thats come about in the past 2 or 3 years. you ever visit hiphopcanada forums? fuck me its painful to read some of the dickriding that goes on there. but you're right, it could be worse...i mean we can have someone like gucci mane or soulja boy or hurricane chris or rick ross representing are shit. i really cant stand those guys. and i have several drake tunes on my hd....basically, hes tolerable when he doesnt get all autotuned-r&b/love songs. but i guess he understands women are his biggest market, so you gotta please them i suppose.

k-os is on a different flex though...he's hip-hop but his music has a wider appeal that reaches indie kids and what not. i respect that element of his steez. as far as kardinall, quest for fire is top notch....but the direction he took from 2005 til now? lmao. hell no. husslin is still one of the sickest songs though.

choclair was sick too, but the moment he got signed his music switched...although he had some crazy tunes once in awhile. this one's a classic:

so who we left with? d-sisive, eternia (one of the best mcs across the board, not just canada), k-dot-o-dot, snak the ripper, shad, 9th uno, etc. there's talent....but the cats who i think will go down as some of the best to ever bless canadian hip hop are poor man militia. virtually unknown outisde t-dot, but those mans are basically what you could call "wu-tang north".

absolute total agreement with everything uve just said

ive always thought that canada lacked some good producers tho... that may be the thing at some point.. i mean i know some pretty creative cats... but i aint seen no timbaland or jay dee round here..

really find myself goin back to house type groove at the moment... something about the beat is calling me back so strongly.. boom boom boom boom like a big heartbeat.. been getting heavily into some older underground speed garage and 2-step, really lovin those ultra shuffley groovez.. quick n dirty beats and soulful vocals make my head spin around..

the arkeologists are some of my favourite producers hands down, out of toronto...and basically in all of hip hop. so grimey. check these beats. they do the standard looped sample chops pretty damn well. hazy shit.

<------i think this one is too much. raw as fuck....if every beat sounded like this i'd be a happy man.
