HRKRT wrote:this is a fucking joke. did not think it could descend anymore.

all that happened was that Seckle posted an article he found about traits of conspiracy theorists.

now we are somehow debating seckles motives behing posting it, rather than the article itself. Furthermore why are we going on like he wrote it himself? hes obviosuly quoted it because its interesting and would serve for a good debate. as far as evidence to back it up goes, how are you meant to provide evidence that conspiracy theorists think or behave like this? dont say shut up and dont post it in the first place: simply state theres a lack of evidence to support it. and how does some random thread from ages ago bear any relevance?

just to clarify i am not having a go at anyone who is having a go at seckle. or attacking conspiracy theorists. simply making a point about how this board seems unable to discuss things without descending into childish arguments.

everyone is saying seckle is defined in the OP. why does this matter. cant we just discuss conspiracy theorists without talking about individual people on the forum. i cant keep up with all the bullshit going on between people in each thread.

disagree with the article thats fine. i disagree with elements of it. at the same time can we keep it to debating the article rather than attacking each other. its christmas guys come on

This thread can be summarized in one picture:

Seriously, how could anyone think that this wouldn't turn into a shitstorm?

im not even on a fighting tip i just thought it was relevant and kind of funny/ironic that seckle posted up something which seems to challenge conspiracy theorists, whilst fitting the discription of what he quoted.

hes pretty much fulfilling my points here, by making the things i say to be attention seeking, when hes the one im focusing on.

i know its annoying when people are talking about other people within the forums, but wed all happily debate it like this if it was some random politician noone knew

and what the fuck is with this label that has sprung up 'conspiracy theorist' on this forum? how the hell do you define that term?
its devolved into an us vs. them situation, 'conspiracy theorists' vs 'sheep', which is why people get resentful and defensive and end up with a shitstorm of a thread like this one.

follow HRKRTs advice and post thoughts on the article or shutup. ok the mods might sometimes abuse their power for personal reasons, but fuck it, its their forum so its their prerogative. if its that much of a problem just leave.

yes i realise i'm a hypocrite for not following my own advice and ignoring this thread or posting something relevant, but fuck it im having a boring xmas eve, so im jst gonna post shit in petty internet dramas.

the sad thing is i knew all along. but being raised as a sikh iv never really celebrated christmas or received presents. just got jealous of others whilst trying to justify it to myself that i am not falling for the commercial crap

but the truth is crimbo is ten times more depressing when you dont celebrate it. and so i find myself here, crying that i cant even find happiness on the internet

oh n just for the record, its irrelivant who i was talking about, if it was some politician who acted this way, id be like yeah thats like this politician,

then id show why (his arguement/not having any real way of backing it etc)

i couldnt see people then going "no stop turning this into a personal beef/internet drama"

i wasnt trying to turn this into some drama, i was meerly relating seckle to op, trying to keep as on topic as possible, could have been anyone
