I have what I feel like is a great start going but I've hit a little bit of a wall. Trying to work my way through it right now.

Ive only just got a project started im liking (after stopping the other two tracks i started yesterday cuz they were pants)

.... i mean,, Ha , my tracks are so sick i made them in my sleep. il proberly write an album this week and submit the track with the music video. you lot going down!

Wasn't the 11th the first day? Well, for me the 12th as I was working, but I had exactly 3 days to get mine done as I had to leave the 14th(yesterday). So if I didn't get it in by then I wouldn't be in it at all.I'm actually pretty happy with what I was able to get down in the time I had, so it works for me. I don't know if it's going to stand up to what others will be able to accomplish with more time, but we'll see.

Yea, I can understand that. Honestly, that's usually how it goes for me. This time around though I actually started kicking around ideas in my head before the actual contest started. So when I actually sat down to do something I had some ideas to work with. Usually I just sit down with a blank slate and try to come up with stuff. Spend a lot of time just banging away at random stuff to see where it goes just to end up deleting it all after a few hours.

the basic arrangment took me 8 hours then it was purely about layering up on my ideas,the mix sounds good on my ipod and my car so i sent it over,it come together so quick because i enjoyed how i went about making it sorry if this annoys you but i am awash with ideas don't blame me my imagination did it lol!!!

to make things short: i started off with a piano sample that i turned into a nice atmospheric pad with guitar rig and then built a simple drumloop. then i spent tons of time polishing the drumsounds, get a friend to record vocals for me and suddenly i notice that i have NO melody and bassline whatsoever, and that i spent 2 days perfecting a drumloop that was just supposed to be a placeholder. yesterday i sat 4 hours straight in front of it trying to make a lead synth or at least a bassline that's beyond 4 notes in 4 bars on repeat. i then gave up when i noticed that i almost broke my nanokontrol by twisting the knobs too hard because i was so pissed off

so either i'll pull a last minute WIP made in 2 hours like last time or man up and admit defeat.

Is it a par to ask to extend the deadline to sat evening, I dunno if I can get something done tonight or tomorrow.
