the same thing can be said about skrillex or justin bieber mt eden or whatever. For some people the idea of liking Korn, or liking Korn when you're over 15 and it isn't 1999 anymore, is laughable. When people make fun of acts on the daily, it's kind of unreasonable to think that the bands YOU happen to like should be put on a pedestal or something.

Still playing the first two releases on a regular basis. Definitely room for more guitars in dubstep.

I still listen to Korn btw. Up to Follow The Leader though, plus a couple of tracks from Issues. Munky is an amazing riff guitarist. Bollocks to all the fast fingers. It's riff funk where it's all at.

it sounds stupid right now for me to say Korn is irrelevant to dubstep, while Skrillex and Mt Eden aren't.. given they just did what they did. but i'm talking early Korn... there's no reason for DSFers to judge one another based on music that's irrelevant to the scene. unless its in the SNH.
and yeah munky is a beast and freak on a leash (barring the beatboxing) is a great tune

For the record... I'd love to work with Korn on some double timed guitar dubstep heaviness. Love it.

Datsik, Downlink and Excision are working with Korn as well.

any dubstep that shares a common ground with heavy metal isn't the kind of dubstep i listen to or want promoted and the heavy metal mentality in this scene is what has turned it to shit. of course one man's shit is another 10 men's treasure based on what's popular these days so i know i'm speaking as someone in the minority.

not a personal attack, just a source of frustration for me in general. and i agree i came off as flippant in my original post, sorry. but the fact that "dubstep" artists are working with Korn is both laughable and migraine inducing.

Heard this played a few times on a metal radio show, I was speechless.

I like it! Doesn't sound much like dubstep to me, but apart from that, its heavy.

Sorry, but how on earth are korn relevant to dubstep? Thats got to be one of the most stupid things ive seen on this forum and theres been a few.

Come on, have you heard distance?? Just listen to his part of the dubstep wars mix (mary anne hobbs) and you'll lose that attitude.

Just make whatever music you want. That's the best way.

Yes of course ive heard distance, i understand that many producers have a wide range of influences when it comes to their tracks. However angsty teenage metal music like korn will never have any relevance in dubstep, except of course if youre skrillex or similar wastemen like that.

naw, listen... i'm not a fan of the stuff. and i don't think its dubstep at all. But i'm usually pretty careful with my words.. any way you look at it, heavy metal is NOT irrelevant to dubstep. to be fair, i don't really think any music is without the influence of lots of other stuff..... but you must agree that a lot of the darker stuff wouldn't have been created had it not been for metal existing prior.

that being said, this new korn shit is relevant to dubstep, as are Skrillex and Eden, and not necessarily in a good way. but undoubtedly relevant.
Much moreso than early Korn, which didn't even rub elbows with dubstep, therefore, it isn't really fair to judge folks based on their taste in that, unless you're in the SNH.

Disapointing playlist from Korn. Surely they should know more artists than Excision, Skrillex and Bring The Noise. No sitings for Datsik surprisingly (mainly just saying cause Excision was mentioned and if you know who he is, you should at least know who Datsik is).
