And thanks Noam for the translation! Don't think I can do some of them things though since I just had an operation and it'll take like 6 months for my stomach muscles to be kinda repaired.

Anyone recommend anything that doesn't work the stomach muscles too hard?? I need to start getting fit man.
I thank thee.

Are you looking to work the whole body? http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5- ... g-program/ ? I'm not too good on how all the muscles are "put together" but I think that none of those should work the stomach too much.
Deep squats and deadlifts definitely require core stabilization, if not contraction. The best thing for someone with an injury to do is cycle or swim. Both are non-impact and you can go at your own pace. For the record, I hate both of them, so its not like I'm trying to sell anyone on what works for me.

Edit: not to say SL5x5 isnt an awesome program; it is. It just isn't the right thing for someone with a major surgery to rehab. About this time last year I used sl5x5 and starting strength to get to a 1000 lb total, so I can vouch for both. Not that a 1k total is crazy, but they definitely work.

You're an picky bastard :D You can't steal a boat and row either? I guess I'm too used to having the beach 200meters from my house then and having 3 boats :P
I know  I'll go on the treadmill, set say, 15 minutes, about 3 minutes I'll think "This is so boring, I'll just do 10 minutes", by the time 5 minutes comes, I'm like "Ok, I'm stopping now". :H:

My gym has just got a couple of those Spinning Class bikes, with some guy on a video display telling me to "feel the vibe" constantly. Come off sweating like a beast after one of those sessions, people getting out of your way and shit, I must look like I've experienced some real sexual abuse at the back of the gym.
If you get bored quick like I do, try cutting down on your time on the bike with the tabata method.

i always thought they felt likethe most unnatural movement for me though. I did used to like to drop the resistance down until it was really easy and go really fast and then just stand on one side and bop up and down

used to go to the gym everyday in NZ, but since moving here too lazy / povo to join a gym yet. So I run and then homeless people yell at me..well thats happened twice, but good motivator to go faster.

Nevertheless I miss the gym and going to classes, cos im less likely to quit early when theres a room full of people watching me leave.

Since uni, I actually have been exercising more (It was the shock of the first-year-one stone-weight-gain), but I never really saw much improvement to my body. I was definitely fitter, but I think I just maintained my weight. So a month ago I upped exercise to every day. Swimming 4 times a week, and running the rest of the days, and I've have seen improvement now. It was my routine sorta thing, but now I'm going back home, I don't think I'll be able to carry on. No free pool anymore :( I think I'll have to go running 4 times a week instead, which I know I won't stick to.

Personally I hate swimming. It's an great excersise since it trains your whole body. You probably are gonna get better breathing rhythm too(which was the hardest thing for me when I started lifting weights). Both my mum and dad used to swim a lot when they were younger, but I dislike water to be honest :P

Also, sorry, I didn't think about the core with squats etc.

Swimming is such a tougher work out that weights and it does your whole body!

I'd like to see you do a set of burpees and then tell me that X is harder than Y

yeah same, when i was 18 I was a proper unit, now i'm just riding on the fact everyone thinks im strong  got beaten by my 16 year old cousin in an armwrestle the other day! he is the same size as me and drinks bare protein shakes but he's still only 16!!

Also by core do you mean core stability and that, like the plank? The plank seems like the easiest exercise in the world but after about a minute and a half im a shaking wreck!!
