Not sure if your taking the piss, but its the same people that compain about the state of the vinyl industry yet they're helping kill it. Who wants to continue to use a medium they have to pay rediculous amounts for just to get a copy because people want buy extra and rip other music fans off.south3rn wrote:glad i was able to grab 6 copiessc0tty wrote:Annoying thing is most places have sold out, but watch how many are up for sale on Discogs in the next few weeks
if I buy 6 copies or 6 people get one copy it's all the same. second hand vinyl sales really dont affect the market much, only makes shops make a decision to sell second hand vinyl or not also, I don't think a record selling out in minutes is killing the vinyl scene.sc0tty wrote:Not sure if your taking the piss, but its the same people that compain about the state of the vinyl industry yet they're helping kill it. although i'm pretty sure he's joking. This post reeks of sour grapes, not his fault you didn't get there quick enough.sc0tty wrote:Not sure if your taking the piss, but its the same people that compain about the state of the vinyl industry yet they're helping kill it. mate, i don't know wtf he's going to do with all them copies, and neither do you, so you should just rearrange your panties slightly. And, if you got your copy, what are you whining about? I hate them discogs fools that bump people just as much as the next guy, and i've made numerous posts about them on here (especially dubvendor and tanamushi) but i also know that if people are willing to get bumped and throw away money, you can't blame them for selling it to themjsml wrote:if you're buying loads of copies to sell on discogs you are a profiteering tnuc that doesn't give a fuck about music. fact.
and no sour grapes here, i've got my copy.
I got dibs!slanguage wrote:
i got my copy from juno yesterdayand i brought a cover copy from chemical in case one of them flopped so i'll probs be looking to sell that when it arrives. I'll come back to this thread and give a heads up anyway
This. If I fell on hard times and had to sell my records (slanguage wrote: Also, it doesn't mean they don't give a fuck about music neither, how do you know they don't just value that record so much it'd take a lot of money to take it off their hands for example?
This is a similar thing to ticket touting.jsml wrote: if a new record is coming out and you've deprived however many people of a copy (even though you only need one) just so you can sell it at an inflated price, you are a tnuc that clearly doesn't care you've stopped the music reaching other fans. sorry but it's as simple as that.
What if they bought a copy to sell in a few years when someone who may not have even heard of coki yet wants a copy, that's not stopping the music reaching the fans is it? Also what if someone bought a spare copy so they can absolutely batter it playing out and haveanother copy to keep in good condition for their collection? This also allows more fans to hear the music! Theres more than 1 reason to buy multiple copies of a record!jsml wrote:nah if you have to sell your records because you've fallen on hard times, fair enough.

and i'm telling them their stnuc because they are and they should know. in general not just about this specific record.

Ticket touts are pretty widely acknowledged as being massive twats.
See, these guys get it.murky21 wrote:^ if its a super limited press i think the need for someone to get a chance to own the record outweighs the need for someone to be sitting back smugly with two copies, no matter what way you spin it
