Yes, I have a deep and profound respect for his work as an artist. If he was one of you guys, I'd shut my piehole. But I seriously doubt that he is.

I like it as a theme song. I wouldn't try to work it into a mix... Well then again it might be a good opener. I wish I knew the guy that made that track, I'd try to ride on his coattails, see if he can get me a gig writing a NHL Stanley Cup promo

which is why i expect most people don't care about this! i didn't even hear it at all during the game, despite catching the other two versions.
i do not care at all either!
i was so much more happy eating twice baked potatoes, nachos, and sausage-fried cheese-stuffed jalapenos! and, believe it or not, i actually spent most of the evening conversing with my friends about our lives and personal experiences. the men in skin-tight suits feverishly grappling one another got no time from me.

and anything aiming for the top40 demographic can fuck off. i think its been at least five years now where anything with any artistic merit whatsoever is completely rejected by popular culture. who actually concerns themselves with that horrible crap now? you want to see dubstep on TRL? wtf?

on the other hand, i forgot what a jam the instrumental to 'vogue' is.

@fractal.... lovely stuff... i slept on that vinyl but just discovered theres a digital release at boomkat

and this got repressed and is still in stock also at boomkat
cant believe i slept on both. was probably eating nachos.

Me neither.

No, there's lots of exceptions: Radiohead, J-Dilla, Madlib, The Roots, Mos Def, Flying Lotus, Kromestar, Breakage, Boxcutter, Vex'd, Bonobo, Quantic, Zed Bias -- groundbreaking producers not "completely rejected by popular culture"

I do agree with you about the "Top 40" part. We all know the Top 40 is designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator among all human music tastes. And as its a genuine, tried and true formula rather than a spontaneous process, writing a Top 40 tune doesn't leave a lotta room for original "artistic merit."

I frankly don't know why everybody's getting so pissy over this tune. If you don't like it, fine. I won't question your opinion, unless you're being an animous dick. Why bother prodding me about it, like I fucked up when I posted the video that Seckle was referencing in this thread.

You just completely contradicted yourself right here.

But I have actual work to do now, so I'm unsubscribing myself from this thread.

Now your whiny bashing can continue unimpeded by bothersome outside perspective.

i should concede that i was being extremely hyperbolic about the state of pop music... the black keys just won some grammys, par example.
@cyrusfx, when i talk about popular culture i'm thinking of a much different group of people than you apparently. and thanks for linking that clip i was having trouble finding it.

Why do u have such a problem with people disliking something? Just accept other peoples opinions... Fucking hell
