i did that in an hour but yeah 1 sinewave, it only sounds harmonically rich because i used a lot of extreme distortion. also the reason why it sounds like theres a lot of different sounds because of the way i automated the phasers and flangers and routed a lot of different channels each having different reverb amounts/eq settings etc.
oh nice, well it's definitely effective. If you cleaned it up and worked on it a bit more, then I would definitely see something like that in a movie scene where tension is building. I guess mine sounds organic mainly because of the live, knob-turning automation but I also did some stereo detuning, adding voices, saturation, eq'ing, etc. which all probably contributed. The 'seagull effect', I gave a brief explanation earlier in this thread.

Was hard to choose between Electric Head and jrisreal, really good and interesting sound design, voted for Electric. Liked lloydy's entry aswell. The rest I found a bit boring and less original than those 3, no offense ofcourse ;-) But kudos to everyone that entered :W:

haha, not per se tbh. Those 3 entries did it for me because they had something interesting going on, considering only sines could be used, it had nothing to do with the fact 2 of them were atmospheres ;-) Ofcourse atmospherics lend them selfs well for imlementing alot of layers and such, but this could be applied to any kind of sound really ;-)

Just thought I`d mentioned I only use Rhino at the moment for almost all of my synthesis
The sound was 6 sine waves modulating each other.
I split the frequencies and basically ran the same process through-out with different settings to accentuate elements.

1st - ran it through Camelphat to add some distortion, very lightly.
2nd - UHBIK-G to granulize slightly and add some slight pitch variation.
3rd - into Camel space to add reverb, slight delay and panning.
4th - ohmboyz to add a slight lfo filter over the top which just adds some top end that spins around.
5th - fab filter volcano to add some filter movement.
6th - dblue glitch on the end of the cycle to stretch the note.
7th - eq
8th - automate the wet/dry knob of each effect

What you hear is one note being pressed

I haven't voted yet, and i know the poll thing spazzed, as you say, but it feels unfair for me to have my name up there more than other people! It's all good, but yeah, don't let this sway your opinion pls, even on some weird subconscious level.

Haha. Yeah, it is very weird. I don't know what happened. I know "spazzed" is the incorrect term, it is the slang catching up with me. It is not a good sign.
