There will always be bad music, in every genre. It's not exclusive to dubstep, and it doesn't mean the good producers have stopped producing. Stay grounded by not flipping the fuck out when you willingly go into a thread called "Check my katy perry remix" and instead just sticking on some tunes you do like.

However you came across this sort of music, there's no excuse for making stupid threats to people over music. That's not passion for the music, that's just being a top jerk-off.
This. Just because you have a sob story about how you used to be a smackhead, doesn't mean it's OK for you to wish death on people who just happen to share the exact sames taste / knowledge as you.

As always Cronbreadddd, I eagerly await your reply, I can't wait for to you tell me how I've once again misunderstood you, and how everything you do is righteous and justified, and that I'm of course in the wrong and somehow a dick

Cornbreadddd wrote:It's interesting that some say that I could put that passion into producing because I have actually started. I've got one tune done, and working on the second. I've been a jazz musician since I was really young and have an extremely extensive knowledge of music theory & not talking some big ego chat or anything, but I feel that I can play at a professional level. That's great and all, but when dealing with computers and keyboards it's a whole different story, it just feels so strange, it seems so difficult to get my ideas onto the computer, so many technicalities. The tune I'm currently working on, my second tune I've ever made, is really jazzy, smooth summer chords, interesting transitions, probably going to end up being 8 minutes long or so, but there are tons of changes in it so it's not just the same loop, also 2 tasteful key modulations. I just want to make something musical, and having an extremely heavy jazz background, I know I can do this, but when it comes to gain structuring and mastering, I'm a complete dolt. No clue what-so-ever.
SCope13 wrote: If all that is true, I've gained some respect for you.
To those who mentioned they for some reason don't believe anything I said, I'm baffled. I'm not going to sit here and argue that I was in fact a heroin addict with you, because first off, it's something that I'm extremely ashamed of anyway. I wish with everything I have that it wasn't true. I'm currently on a medication called Suboxone, which is helps me with withdrawal so I can actually live a normal life. I work, go to school, and have a girlfriend now.

Spend some time in the Production, Hardware, & Technical thread. That's where I spend most of my time. Read the HUGE GUIDE TO PRODUCING DUBSTEP, and then after that, whenever you have questions, make a thread about them and there are some very helpful people who will answer.
And send me the tune when you're done! I've been a jazz guitarist for 6 years and I love jazz (and I also would say I have a decent knowledge of music theory), so I'm interested to hear what you come out with!

Exactly. I mean, I could understand doubting him if he was just saying shit to provoke people, but do you really think he'd make that up?

More importantly, would you do the same irl? "Hey, not to be unsympathetic or anything, but i think you're bsing us about the heroin. Not that we're asking proof or anything, just calling you a liar."

Great comment man. Really good one.

I have no reason to lie to anyone here, first off, If I knew any of you in person, I probably wouldn't ever tell you about my past because it's something I don't want those around me to know. The majority of the people on here just spew off random insults and confrontational statements (Like the guy quoted above. I know I'm guilty of that as well, but it seems that I'm the only one who ever gets flack for it.). Thus, I really have no care in the world as to what you may or may not think of me.

I wasn't stating my story for any kind of sympathy or anything like that, because I brought it all upon myself, and now I'm completely out of that and living a great, happy life. I simply stated how I feel that this music has been largely the catalyst which accelerated my sobriety, and that's why I stated my story.

Big up to all the people who were actually understanding (Scope, wobbles, Sonika, and a couple others, or that have been helped by this music in other issues of their life who didn't just take a piss and reply with some mindless, thoughtless bullshit.

Totally different though, innit? c-l0k's taking credit for somebody else's work, cornbreaddd's just telling his life story because he's passionate about the music. What possible motive could he have for lying about that?

I find it more likely that he's actually experienced this than that he's made up some elaborate story about heroin and truly being in love with 140 music in order to save face on some internet forum.

I would say that whatever you believe, don't be a dick about it, but....that would be somewhat hypocritical considering who i'm trying to defend here.

Computerface couldn't be more correct. I'm done talking about all my past though, I just wanted to share the events in my life that have led to my extreme love for 140 music.

Nevalo, To save my respect on an internet forum? Are you kidding? What a joke. "Respect" on an internet forum means nothing, it will not get you anywhere in life, and it really doesn't serve any beneficial purpose to you. To anyone who really seriously values their "respect" on a website on the internet and acknowledges it as something worthy of defending, it hints that they must not have a lot in real life, or that they need a little ego boost.

I use this website for information on the music I love. Not for friendships and artificial "respect."
