^^ added.

MEanwhile, received SHackleton 2cd package. Fucking awesome stuff. "Music for the Quiet Hours" is like the soundtrack to some futuristic world. The spoken words are fantastic (are they original or from some movie?). Pure poetry. The music is excellent, drawn out drugged out with dubwise bass and all sorts of percussion and wacky vocals (is that Mongolian throat chanting going on there?)
The Drawbar Organ EPs show a surpisingly melodic/uplifting Shackleton, slightly contrasting the first disc. I'll be digging through this one for a few more hours before I write more. 4 day weekend and shackleton, best combo.

The reissue of KWJAZ's eponymous album on Not Not Fun is great. Like a sonic collage of weird synths, various noises, all flowing together to create melancholic atmospheres... Great work, I'm liking it a lot. For fans of Patten, Hype Williams, Ghost Box, ...

THe new Lazor Sword - Memory sounds fucking solid all round. Haven't listened to it in full because I'm skint after getting about 6 albums recently (and half because of this thread). But from what I've heard, it's pretty solid funky/house/techno/footwork future bass in the middle of nowhere and everything kinda style: good variation, solid production. Fancy sounds.

^ Listened to the previews; bored me pretty bad tbh. Sounds like anything else in that style to me. Gonna give it another change though.

I wouldn't give it top marks certainly not. But it sounded more promising than Transistor Rhythm (AG), Galaxy Garden (lone) and Reeling Skullways (bass clef) to me. Nowhere near top marks, but stellar production allround. Of course, only my opinion!

Whack album that Hotflush put out so Scuba can continue to act like he never had anything to do with dubstep IMO.

Yeah, I get that. Don't really see the point for the whole "dubstep is shit, I've always been into techno and house" attitude of some producers. Noone said you can't move on to make something else, just don't make a big deal out of it. I guess it sucks for them that they're always gonna be associated with dubstep (and, most likely, that's what they'll be remembered for).
Nevertheless, this is a good album imo.
