Agree, the atmosphere in Vampire Hunter D is quite special. I only have the 1985 movie (not bloodlust), which is ever so slightly lacking in animations and characters to make it into the top for me. But good atmosphere nonetheless.

Word - better than the departed any day of the week, and I'm a big Scorcese fan too

I've got the film on dvd, but the series are indeed better imo. Also watched them multiple times.

I have the film on VHS.
