this is just flat out wrong. were you not around in 2004-2007 when everyone was already doing triplets in the mainstream, and making more money than any of these "trap" producers from the uk? annnnnd making better sounding music? trap already jumped the shark, you are all just waaaaaaaaaaaaay late, or have just became of legal age.

also rappers are what propel it to the next level....there will only be one producer who comes out of this year, who will be still relevant. just like with fidget/moomba/etc

i'm with you though on the cheese
lex luger isn't original trap, he's pretty new to the game really

my random shower thoughts: trap had to make way fewer sacrifices than dubstep to get popular in the bigger EDM scene, which is nice. all the things that i enjoy about older trap are the same things i enjoy about the newer trap artists (sonically exclusively, artists on both sides can feel forced as far as 'image' goes).

but whoever said it's just mainstream club music, they were right. the names were already there:

NSFW, in case you can't tell

that instrumental is dope on a proper system, and i remember hearing it in hip hop clubs a couple months before the nicki version came out

first started producing for people in 09 (think that's when i first saw him in mixtapes) so at least he hasn't just jumped on it in the last 12 months....

But even as good as some people seem to think Baauer is he's still light years behind bedroom producers in southern hip hop heavy cities. You can go to any Arab or Asian run gas station in the south, pick up random local hip hop mix tape with random local producer, and have way better "trap" tunes with far less cheese involved.
Flosstradamus and baauer do much better not following that "trap" formula. Same with Hudmo imo.
If that is really the case, why are they not massive?
I mean music is pretty much global now so if these cool as fuck bedroom producers dont know how to use soundcloud to get people to listen to their stuff Im not really sure what to say?

Some examples would be pretty sweet actually? and I mean if you can just go to any old gas staion and find stuff it shouldnt be too hard right?

but hey your Dubstep fourms own Trap Champion™ fighting the good fight against the invisible enemy "fake trap" and its hordes of mindless fans with brilliant lines such as "this shit is old and not real trap" "Oh they are like 20 years late and fake wanna bes"

Usually I just ignore it but after awhile I kind of wonder why you bother chatting about it so much if you hate it so much you know?

Oh well I welcome our new Juke overlords :4:

Yeah but Lunice is black tho :6:

because they're not white kids from the suburbs wearing sweaters to nightclubs hyping up trap on pitchfork. Whether you admit it or not, trap has nothing to do with musical authenticity. It's a fad, a lifestyle accessory, and has no basis in musical talent.

If we were talking purely on talent then Drumma Boy would be the biggest name in Trap hands down... but we're not so he's not. We're talking about hipsters, in hipster venues, blogging on hipster blogs, about other hipster shit.
So basically your going to backpedal your way out of it by throwing around the word hipster  from all your ranting over however long the other threads been around, your entire dislike for it seems to be because for better or worse the label "trap" stuck to it. Would it make you happy if they just called it christ knows ermm Lazer Bass?

Would you then say "oh that lazer bass shit is just watered down trap music for white people/hipsters?"

Oh well you go back to your super cool underground basement rooftop flyover city dwelling gas station producers and ironically become the thing you hate the most a Trap "Hipster" :cornlol:

no shame in that, like other pop/club music it's designed on almost every level to be the lowest common denominator of visceral music/video. i still stand by the fact that the instrumental is dope though, don't care whaddaysay.

just because its become drop based music doesnt mean its a dubstep twist, drops existed long before dubstep you know

lex luger, shawty redd style trap goes hard as FUCK, is there really any need to add a bunch of cliched bass drops and shitty mid-range bass to make it palatable to the EDM crowd? seriously, is the EDM audience that awful?

i feel betrayed. it's like the first time i came face to face with brostep. an acquaintance showed me his "dubstep" collection a few years back: it had the same name, and a superficial resemblance, to the music i loved, but it had none of the things i liked about it, and it seemed that the people who made it COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT.

funny how nobody was banging on about "trap" during the Woo Riddim and Wut hype a couple of years back.
