turn ya volume on headfones up while mixing, job done.
i will say that tunes with quiet intros or intro with da high hats sometimes give me shit.
i prefer to mix tune that starts with a proper beat.

I always cheat with this and turn one turntable off and let it wind down then bring this in.Works alright.

THIS. i swear it drops out of fucking nowhere!
I mix both this and Voyeur on this mixtape - never thought of them being hard to mix... the drop comes a little unexpected yes, but it is allright to mix
its not hard to actually beatmatch, but the drop sounds out of place everytime

exactly, i can never quite work out when to start playing it so it drops in sync. tryed counting the intro once and it really drops awkwardly, would play it more but everytime i look it i just dont bother with the stress

just skip it on until the hats come in, it probably confusing cos the kick/bass is not on the first beat, but the 16th hats start one 1
thanks, is the snare on the four then the three?
no, its on the 1st and 4th of the second bar, no snare in the first bar
very strange. i can hear the right way (snare on 1 of 2nd bar) while its being mixed but alone i can literally only hear it as if the snare was on the fourth still tho, this helps cheers man
no prob - but yeah, it's weird beat!

i don't drop it properly until the second drop, pretty sure that one's more regular

You just count in 4 bars at the start and it drops in sync

that whole release is hard to mix, really noisy and the drums don't stick out.
i'm alright with His Money, took some trial and error to find tunes it works with though
didn't realise quite how dark it was until hearing it mixed with other records i've got ahah
Genevieve wrote:The hats? I mix all the tunes with the hats.
my problem is not the queueing or beatmatching, i just think it doesn't sound too good in a mix. it's like one single noisy layer instead of a composition of different elements. everything sounds pretty flat, but this applies more to his money than why they hide.
i remember joy o in his hinge finger mix not really mixing it with the previous track, he just punched it in completely, for the same reason i guess.
Try following it up with 'Vanilla Monkey' by Milanese. It's a great combo.

Zhou - I Remain
The structure of it always throws me off, it's hard to know when it 'drops' (not that it really ever does) unless you know the tune inside out.
Got the hang of it now but it took me ages. I start a mixing session with it (when I do use it), and know exactly when to bring in the second tune tune now, I could never drop it mid-set (it is too mellow for that anyway).

that ramadanman has no syncopations at all, the snare starts in the offbeat. the way it drops is a bit tricky though.

I don't know why, but I've never managed to get Kromestar & Jay 5ive - Clearly Distorted in synq, it sounds in phase untill that synth at 0:30 comes in

You need to ask machine elves to help you mix that in. It's the secret to the song.
