fell in love again too, woops

She's pretty, but those clothes are so fucking basic. Seems almost like the younger generation have smoothed out all the edges of the previous 3 decades of fashion until there's zero actual impact or stuntworthyness left. How can you even form an opinion on that outfit? She looks like a very naturally pretty woman who's spent very slightly too long getting herself ready for a big day's decorating.

You know the clothes aren't actually a part of the human, right?

They're a pretty good window into a person's personality though... if the words coming out of her mouth display the same level of imagination and individuality as the cloth on her skin, I'd be surprised if anyone could make it through the first date without gnawing a hole in their own cheek. No wonder all the kids are fucked up on mystery powders all day...

ok
I can't even comprehend how superficial and stupid that is tbh.
Are you saying that if you had a deep conversation with someone, printing the whole conversation and putting it on a shirt would be the same?

I am a girl and...
...I have always had problems understanding most other girls...
especially the hipster ones...
and then my major at school put me in with a bunch of them...
and after having a huge range of starter conversations...
I realize - that I don't understand them at all.
and I'm filled with dread at seeking employment with them.
correction - I am paralyzed with dread
I just can't do it. I'm an alien.

but, back to the topic....
something draws you to a person.
Otis Redding said in that famous song
"Love is your own happiness."

...thinking about someone makes you happy...
and then the baristas at the coffee shop all start singing and laughing
while they are making your drink...
...the animals flock to you...
oooooof - that's a lot...black swan

Obviously I'm exaggerating my similes to make things slightly more entertaining to read, but yeah, whether you think so or not, the clothes you wear communicate a surprising amount about your personality whether you want them to or not. I think that's a fairly commonly held view, too... yeah, it is superficial, but hey, humans are pretty fucking superficial sometimes. There are people in this thread apparently "falling in love" with people based on photographs. We make snap judgements on first impressions all the time and if you're not thinking about how the clothes you're wearing make you look, you're doing yourself a disservice.
All I'm really saying is that I think current fashion trends are boring and a lot of what I see shows an over-obsession with making sure things are "smooth" and inoffensive and not enough concentration on personalisation and individuality. I didn't think this would cause quite so much offense.

Totally in agreement then. I dont know maybe it was the structure of the first sentence.
A statement can be deliberately vacous though, like it probably is when you are as attractive as that girl is. And that line is difficult to tread - appearing expensive or exclusive or timeless. But yeah fuck that give me some darude remixed by shitmat

Random shit? - No , I carve all of my component by hand...
although - I have gotten to a bit of a Louise Nevelson place
- with all the scraps from my process...
started a piece last week and have a dozen more in mind
- all process oriented
This year I think is going to be me using process as point of departure...
Instead of imagining things straight from my head...
I've always been a bit of a formalist anyway.
I'm - not a hipster at all...
I'm solidly generation X - Post Punk sort -
having gone through the Jungle - and seen the pop fallout.
It's not shock of the new for me - it's shock of the bad.
I couldn't have gotten away with half the shit I see being done now...
and I don't understand why they are allowing it.
