just ask the man ?

the fact that he was/is pretty much the de facto american dubstep dj has a lot to do with it. but also because he's simply a sick dj. the energy and enthusiasm he brings when he plays a set is something special that i dont think ive ever seen with anyone elsephane wrote:a bit offtopic, but ..
I have this question on my mind since 2006 i guess and probably because i don't value Joe Nice so much, because back in the day with the dubstep warz crew & co, he was the only one who didn't write music and i don't why he was so special.
So my question is, how come does he have one of the best dubs collection from the scene? (he does not write music, he does not own a label). Only because he is from the states and he could promote dubstep in the USA back in the day ?
I can understand why Oneman can have such a collection, but not Joe Nice.
It's also because he's built a relationship with all the OG heads since 2002ish.Phigure wrote:the fact that he was/is pretty much the de facto american dubstep dj has a lot to do with it. but also because he's simply a sick dj. the energy and enthusiasm he brings when he plays a set is something special that i dont think ive ever seen with anyone elsephane wrote:a bit offtopic, but ..

Agree that he has done a lot for bringing (original) dubstep to the US. But last time I saw him (a couple of months ago), he was strictly playing brostep... couldnt even listen to him finish his set.prisoner wrote: It's also because he's built a relationship with all the OG heads since 2002ish.
He was one of (if not THE) first person outside of south london playing these beats, especially getting them CUT.
He also has a pretty storied history of breaking new dubs and artists get a lot of exposure from his show.
He is THE dubstep DJ imo. Moreso then Youngsta or Hatcha even. I think becuase Joe continues to push new sounds and directions and hasn't put on the tunnel vision and also never catered to the "brostep" crowd. He is still on top.

i've never heard him play a single brostep tune. some goth-trad or coki stuff is as tear-out as it gets.ultraspatial wrote:when i saw joe nice it was defo on the bro-y side. played a few alright tunes but also hiphop and tearout.jrkhnds wrote:lol joe nice playing brostep? u sure?
