Not my 2nd love but I like it more than boring drum n bass. Electro/funk/fusion would be my 2nd love after dubstep. I'm prolly more into jungle that breakcore though. Serious lack of breakcore happenings in London which is a fuckin' shame. The genre seems to have died on its face.

Not really breakcore influenced I'd say its more like breakstep but yes its a decent record if a little repetative.

Agreed. Life4land is what I think of when I think of breakcore/jungle/drum n bass I really dig. Scamp has done some pretty dark tunes but he is more on a hardstep tip.

Got well into Acrnym at the start of the year.

This is supposedly a homage to Snares's Plunging Hornets; it's a belter.

Acrnym's whole career is a homage to Venetian Snares. I quite like him, though.

Mostly bumpin' Epsilon and Christoph Fringeli lately. =0

Someone said on last.fm that his stuff was completely unremoved from Snares. I dig the chiptune sounds though.

Acrnym is far too melodic to be considered anything like what Aaron Funk does. I always thought it was daft when folk claimed it was similar. I mean, aye, it's all breakcore but that doesn't mean it's a straight up Vsnares ripoff.

Snares isn't exactly amelodic, or hasn't been in yeeeaars and most breakcore doesn't sound like that. Intricately programmed breakcore is a relatively recent thing in the 'history' of breakcore and a lot of it is quite derivative of Snares (most certainly not all of it, though).

There's a reason people don't call Aaron Spectre or Benn Jordan or Otto Von Schirach Venetian Snares rip-offs, but call Acrnym and some of Datach'i's stuff derivative of Snares and it's not because 'it's breakcore'.

It's pretty cheap for a 2-room suite with 2 queen beds + 1 sofabed. Click this Orbitz link to get their rate, and use promocode SUMMERVIN for an instant 15% discount when using a Visa card. Regardless of how many people are staying in your room, just state 1 or 2 guests on the site to avoid an unnecessary increase, and book soon, because prices are rising as a result of International Jazz Fest that same weekend! You can find other hotel options using Kayak.com/hotels, and keep in mind that the preparty and main event are both near downtown Detroit.

"Are you cracking under the minutiae of modern life? Deliberating your existence while your grasp on reality slips away? The urgency is escalating, like mercury rising, to escape this summer of broken dreams. The time has come to shed your chains and embrace the unattainable...

All aboard as we embark for Old Detroit, to rediscover the gentle art of civilized living while exploring the jewel of American industry. Step out into the void, where nothing is true, and everything is permitted. Welcome to dystopia... welcome to Schizophrenia 4."

I thought cardopusher/ebola and the other breakcore producers who now venture in dubstep tagged it as "mutant dubstep".
