my girl shaye had freeza/UKC out to her nite @ velvet lounge recently and she said it was kinda quiet.. now is that in kitchener/waterloo or more like cambridge?
don't know the area at all.. supposed to pass through for her sometime in the summer tho..

youre asking about things happening in van, on the weekend of feb 7/8/9?

i'll be playing dubstep & a bit of dnb @ the lamplighter on sunday the 9th, and some reggae with dabbler @ bayside lounge on monday the 10th.

its the thursday of that weekend that we're going big in victoria, if you can get over there at all. big bass riddims all night long!

Very tribal scene in KW, it really depends on the promoter as to who will come out to party. I was playing with some locals: DJ Mouth, Mentill, and Kapitol in Kitchener for Rebel Bass Promotions (who seems to be well connected to local ravers). I think it was the first pure dubstep party that he was doing and it was a good turnout, everyone had a great time. Pure dubs with no MCs and kind of a ghetto sound system. Before that, he's been doing strictly DnB parties.

Yes, Velvet lounge is in Cambridge and it's probably a totally different crowd. It's a prohibitively expensive cab ride from KW. Respect to Shaye tho (Nuff Dubz). I played for them awhile back in Guelph.

GimpyJ, I just realized I think I met you at Playde awhile back.

I'm doing a little Alberta mini tour this weekend:

Friday - "Age of Aquarius" in Edmonton
Saturday - "Dub + Bass" with Trillbass in Calgary
Sunday - I'll be doing a workshop on finishing lots of music in Edmonton at 4:20pm at the promoter's place (PM me for details)

i'm a ds dj/promoter from Brisbane (Australia) and I'm headin to Montreal for 6 months in August. can't wait to check it out over there. any heads who wanna point me in the right direction for nights, etc or just speak shit - hit me up! i've heard of the Dubstep Experiment over there & thats about it.
