I'll just add my opinion by saying that Caspa's set really hurt my ears. After dancing about with my hands over ears for about 20minutes, I gave up and decided to go sit at the bar. Have never had to do that before ever, and my ears were ringing noticeably worse for the next day than the usual FWD aftermath.
Having said all that, I had nothing against his tune selection. In fact I liked quite a few of them (or I wouldn't've stayed around for that long). What I do think the issue was was that particular selection on FWD's soundsystem. It probably would've sound ok in, I dunno, Fabric, but playing those tunes out with the high frequencies at that volume in such a small space for such an extended, unbroken period with nothing "quieter" interspersed was probably not the best idea.
I've winced at the volume of high frequency stuff in FWD before, regardless of who was playing it, eg even when it was Skream or Distance. But it was always bearable because it was never an unbroken chain of high freq stuff like Caspa's set was.
I think it needs to be said though: I thought Youngsta's set was as close to perfection as any I've ever heard.

people that weren't even reaching nights moaning about the "scene" on the internet, trying to sub genre it,
yeah sounds very familiar .. look at how ukg is languishing now
one of the best things about Dubstep is that so many sounds come under one umbrella
get on with your own lives, listening to the music you like... if your coming to the forum bring something positive
god forbid if it does go the way of ukg, ill be making a nice thread on here thanking the internet badmans for fucking it up!
Caspa haters- own anything on Storming Productions or DubPolice? seen, thought so..

Im surprised this thread is still going on. Get on with doing what you do, listen to what you want to, stop preaching and slating. To say Caspa doesn't have a clue and can only do one thing then listen to Quietstorms music. Listen to Ruskos "deeper" stuff. If they were so terrible at what they do Im sure these two heads wouldnt be doing as well as they are.

You guys should just count yourselves lucky you get the chance to go to a top quality Dubstep night on a Sunday night.................and for that matter most other nights if you choose to. Does it really matter if there is one or maybe two DJ's you don't really like out of the whole nights line-up?
Lucky ba***rds I say

lol @ moving the fwd night to a sunday to filter out the waste and now the crowd think they can filter out the DJs.
i wouldn't dream of expecting every DJ to be hand picked to my taste,
who do these people think they are? Prince Charles on his 60th Birthday??

I think what's cool about dubstep is that it's a genre with a lot of variety of influences... personally i'm more into that deep, techy or 2-stepish stuff, like Mala, Loefah (which is imo the best producer in dubstep), Ramadanman, Pinch, Martyn, Forsaken, Peverelist, Shackleton and a lot lot more...
But i sometime love to hear bangers in a dance (not a complete banger set). Well i think Caspa and Rusko used to make some good tracks, now i really don't like what they do (or a few ones), it's juste a matter of taste. What really makes me sick is when people think that they ARE dubstep and don't dig deeper, they're just a side of this genre, while i.e. Shackleton is another side
It's kind of sad that they are the most demanded artists for a dubstep set around the world, but it'll always be like that... Naahmean? It's like you always hear bout 50 cent but you'll never hear about Cunninlynguists for exemple, even though they both rap.
The real deal is that people don"t dig deep in the music, they just stay on the surface, but the world is made like that, you got people that LOVE music, FEEL music, LISTEN to music and than you got people who just like to hear music and those people won't never search, they will always take what someone or the medias give'em. If we were all a bunch of real music lovers the life would be so boring
In Belgium we say "il faut de tout pour faire un monde" don't know how to translate it... something like "you need everything to make a world"

I'm pretty sure Dubstep is taken extremely seriously.
Aside from that, shouldn't music be enjoyable? Different types of music emit different emotions from your person, there's nothing wrong with a bit of fun or cheekiness and thats exactly what caspa and rusko bring to the table.
Diversity is the spice of life. The fact Caspa and Rusko can perform under the same umbrella as artists like Mala, Burial, Joker and 2562 is one of the reasons so many people like "dubstep".
I'm not saying everyone should like every kind of artist making dubstep, whether its deep or wobbly or whatever. I'm just trying to point out that people are stating some pretty extreme opinions in this topic - there are no governors in our scene, just live and let die.
I'm sure there are thousands of people who enjoy caspa and rusko the same way people enjoy anti social. Just let everyone do their thing, if it's not to your taste, you're welcome to your opinions. But nobody has the authority to say what should and shouldn't be allowed in dubstep or at FWD for that matter.
