crytek wrote:Was it sort of a natural progression from dnb to dubstep? Are you turning away from the former and just strictly putting out dubstep tunes?

Do you have another album in the works?

Any major changes that happened to you since your last album?
going from d&b to dubstep was pretty easy, just a case of slowing down, once i got the hang of that it was simple... kinda
if anything its hard to juggle the two, which is what im finding out now... i make a few dubstep tunes and the d&b slips behind and vice versa

i would never turn my back on any genre, just add to the list :)

ive been working on my second album for a while now, all going well it should be ready to go by early june (i hope!)

a lot of major changes have gone on, some bad and a lot good, im a lot happier now i think and my music shows it (to an extent) but im not gonna go into too much private life stuff :P

im not sure, i just do it cos i still love to make music
if i go more than a couple of days without at least doing some sampling or something towards being creative i get very cranky lol

Want to bigup Breakage for spending time answering the questions.
Have a list of other producers for forthcoming threads incl Stenchman, J.Sparrow, Reso, Kutz, Numbernin9 to name a few.

What's up man.. Has moving to LA/Cali influenced your music since living here? If so, what?? Gangster rap, palm trees, low riders, chrondo...etc?

Do you still get the same buss from releasing a tune as you did when you first put out a tune?

What about the satisfaction after completing a tune? Do you still feel awesome after or does that dwindle with time?

what advice have you got for up and coming/new producers?
best thing i could say is dont just send stuff out, wait... you want to wow dj's, other producers and labels straight off the bat
bigup, this is one of the most important pieces of advice you've shared, I hope people heed it. :4:

what kind of biscuit are you into? Are you a chocolate hobnob man, or more of a crinkle crunch lover?

Nice one for doing this Breakage, one of my favourite producers of dubstep and dnb.

Few questions

How do you program your drums in Logic? Do you do it all in audio regions or use Ultrabeat or another sampler?

Is the reverb on the woodblock sound in matter of facts from space designer?

Favourite breaks to use in dubstep? :P

it still feels good, maybe not as immense as it used to but i still get all happy when i get a tune on vinyl or see people on forums bigging it up, or dj's playing my tunes
i dont think it'll ever "dwindle" and if it does, obviously im not really loving what im doing anymore... but like i said, i cant see it getting old

as for cakes, the viennese swirl still hurts me... that and my mums apple cake is big (when she can actually be bothered to make me one)

i do it in the sampler, do the breaks as rex files and the one shots as just one sound per channel... i try to keep everything midi cos i dont like the audio section of logic, whereas with cubase i was all about the audio but not so much the midi lol
i actually still dont really know how to use ultrabeat properly lol

most of my reverbs are from the space designer, to many of them can eat up your power, but they sound great!!
so thats a yes, more than likely

i always try to use a different break with each tune nowadays
generation was the worm and the gateman break, matter of facts was a disco break, rain was a couple of hip hop breaks, and together was from an 80's hip hop tune

Yer I was goin to say that I also came to logic from cubase on PC (analogic delay was a favourite of mine too) and did all my drums as audio because you can quantize the audio regions and it has the real time fades function that I found really useful.
When I started using Logic I did it in audio too but recently learnt how to use Ultrabeat properly. I like the eq, envelopes, filters for each individual hit and you can have multiple outputs from 1 ultrabeat. :D
