Stumbled across some sets online and began seeking it out cos of the more darker/chilled sound.
Fell in love when west indian in leeds started playing it for warm up sets at Subdub and got to experience it on a proper system. High pressure soundsystem started nights at atrium just as I was getting into it too which was great.
Went to some early ruffage nights but they were always dead at the time. Not been since it moved.

I've only just started getting into Dubstep but I'm already addicted... I've been into DnB and Breaks for over 15 years now but have lost faith in DnB and the Breaks scene of late... for me DnB peaked during '99 and Breakz never quite took off so I've been looking for something new and right nasty!
The first Dubstep tune I heard...(not sure what track it was)... it reminded me of that first Jungle tune I heard way back in the day... dubstep is going to grow into a right monster! For a scene that's still growing it's already clear there are several sub-genres coming on (are there names for them yet?) and I want to be a part of it...

I gave it a listen. it took about 4 months to sink in, but I got it... then I find out my buddies Wish and Odeed (hd4000) were rockin some serious remixes and it peaked my interest even more... After a lot of diggin and feelin some incredible basslines, I found a new love as breakbeats have been headed in directions that I can't stand.. and now I am here feelin the positive vibes in half time. :)

*edit* I guess I should mention that I'm a HUGE breakstep fan and I miss that stuff a lot.. dubstep makes up for it though..I'm satisfied :)
woot!

old skool hardcore > jungle > dnb > uk garage > rinse fm > grime > FWD > dubstep > funky?

I have followed the hardcore continuum,

god bless pirate radio and the underground music scene.

Grabbed Anti-War Dub i SOTU in late 2006. Just for the heck of it. was very much into the hiphop, and postpunk scene at that moment. Not anymore tbh.

So thanks to SOTU, i remember the storeclerck saying sumthin about how huge this tune was.
And i didnt understand anyting at that moment as i had never heard any dubstep.
Only read about it in some FACT magazine i randomly picked up.
