Not sure why it just ain't that original. The folks at blogosphere clearly need to get an education in electronic music.
Sure. I even belonged to those people here on the forum who 'maligned' the tune. But that doesn't seem to have harmed promotional purposes, lol.

Education in electronic music?! Lol, the faux intellectuals never get tracks like this... They forget that dance music is supposed to be fun.. This tune is so sweet when it drops, you body just has to move! I'm not stressing how original or complex it is, I just want to dance! too much chinstroking over beats these days

Hey Fractal and DJ Cal Cutta,
to find the tune boring and unfresh does not at all mean that you are into IDM, or a chin-stroking faux intellectual.

And i wouldn't have bothered to post anything against the tune if it hadn't been for the fear that the funky-hype will push aside and finally eliminate the dubstep sound I love so much (see Pitchfork July thread)
Quite physical that love btw.

sorry, that last bit was as much referring to myself(very much a bitter old IDM-head)

As far as your fears of certain detractors killing off the sounds of dubstep they don't like, I would fear not. If anything, I'd consider something like "Hyph Mngo" way more palpable to most folks who don't like funky stuff as much(like me...). It's a good song at 140bpm, that doesn't fit really any particular mold of what people have heard in dubstep or a similar genre before. Also, just 'cause someone else is being cynical about dubstep being "killed off", realistically, that isn't happening.

Never heard Hyetal too much, sems like some roots producing though.
Drop on wet look is too nice.

it's a nice enough track, but all this "track of the year" and "future of dubstep" nonsense is just the usual hype regurgitation that this scene (and this forum) in particular suffers from.

I agree with it not being the future of dubstep, it's just another vibe.

I don't see why it can't be track of the year though, it's a big tune.

Oh boy, His remix of Jose James is hhhheeeeaavy too. Got a feeling some peeps are gonna go nuts for it.

Others will probably slate those going nuts. Whatever. Boy's got skills no doubt no matter how complex or otherwise you think it is.

I like his stuff a lot and he's got talent but I'm just saying people need to get things into perspective. He's not exactly making revolutionary music although he is making solid dance tunes.

He's making music that a lot of people connect with. His tunes stand out in a dance. I've seen it.

You can always reference pretty much anything out there if you want to. People over analyze shit to make themselves feel good.

Big up those getting behind new artists and supporting, and paying for their music.

I wonder if that journo dude ever made any music himself? Love to hear it.
