Haven't read back through yet and I'm gonna think about my list but Music has the right to Children has got to be the Boards of Canada choice.

My Man Marc Royal was ahead of his time.

I think you are right about Squarepusher - Go Plastic. I keep coming back to that record and have yet to find an album that has had the same impact on me outside of jazz. My Red Hot Car is a great way to kick off any road trip.

Did nobody mention Wormhole? Classic.
FSOL - Life Forms for sure, sickness, still holds up now. Dead Cities is also teh sickness.
Saw the first two Orbital albums mentioned, but no Snivilisation or Insides? Those two albums are amazing.
Recently, Jon Hopkins - Insides blew me away. If you haven't heard this, get on it. It's brilliant.
Boards of Canada - Music has the Right to Children (campfire Headphaase is also outstanding, was listening to that just yesterday)
Digitonal - Save Your Light for Darker Days (favourite album of 2008 by some distance)
Man, choosing one album is just impossible. I could probably list another 20 albums that have changed my life in some way...
