Yeah poor show on my part, will develop the idea and maybe submit for next week as I only started it yesterday. All just treated myself to Valhalla Shimmer, so want to have a play with that this week.

That grain synth plus shimmer should have you tripping balls pretty quick.

Yeah no doubt, shimmer's lush. That plus granular will get you deep into space.

That was pretty much my thinking, yeah.
Chuck in iZotope Iris and I've got pretty much a complete sound design toolkit.

nowaysj can you maybe post the weeks tunes on the front page or sth cause if we give feedback over the week or sth i might get a bit exhausting to find the right page again

Feedback goes here or on the SC track NWSJ?
I'm starting to listening some of the songs and wanted to know.
@NWSJ opening the filter on the wob it's an excellent idea, will try it later after feedback.
looks like my track got glitched and doesn't play and appear damn sc private thing.

you can do it however you want but if you make it on the sc link and the person deletes the tune its gone so i choose to do it here

Bud...You're very original, I'd need to take 5 different drugs mixed together to get that result probably hahaha

Hey SJ about your Track, The drums are fine it's the melody that's kinda strange probably out of context dunno.

@m8son: really feeling the melancholic melody, good progression tho i think maybe the track could use more variations. like maybe mess with the vocals more ? after a while i felt they got a bit repetitive and grating. i'd suggest switching up the beats at some point too and overall maybe add more little percussions incidentals, some fills, maybe send that snare to a reverb at times etc... overall its a pretty solid track already but i'd say it could use that last polish to really be "finished", imo bbq
@relka/jizzman: noctanbowl> nice jazzy piece. i'm not sure that's what nowaysj meant but i think the snare is a bit dry, i don't know, i feel it doesn't really suit the floaty vibe of the rest of the track... the snareless part could use more little variations, like maybe add a reverbed rimshot here and there? really feeling how the atmospheric background sounds you have blend into the rest too.
cafe> great use of the jazz samples again, the piano is mad, still not sure about the dry snare, but it's less remarkable than in the first tune. i wish there were more incidental percussions (like the one at 2:00 for example), also i'll have to agree with nwj that the horn sample should either be switched up or removed at some point (if only to be dropped again after a breakdown or something).
@Bud: wow great batch this week! Verlorene> i'm not really sure the beats are necessary on this one, i think those synths could stand on their own as a weird ambient piece. the beats make it sound like socialist breakcore
Beatsy Tuna> this one is pure madness, i like the idm-ish drums much better on this, they feel less "forced" not sure if you see what i mean. if i have any criticism its that it ends too abruptly and that it should be like 7 minutes long, you've left me wanting more
Beatsy 2 tuna> i think the mixdown is a bit weird on this one, not too sure what sounds off, maybe the beats could be a bit more upfront. other than that, liking that dystopian atmosphere, nice sound design as usual
@twisted psykie/JBE: great track, will have to agree that this one is pretty much finished, can't find anything to fault really. maybe adding a new element with the 2nd drop, so as to make it less formulaic (nitpicking really)
@Hashkey: nice to see a new face welcome aboard. nice dubstep tune, maybe a bit too sparse for my taste, wouldn't mind some additional tribal-ish percussions in there. i think maybe you could also have another more midrangey reese, like not playing constantly but acting as a sort of fill at the end of 16/32 bars phrases ? also i feel the hats coming in around 1:09 could be slightly less loud, could be just me though.
@nowaysj: man you gotta be fishing for compliments this track is seriously good. ok, its good until 1:45, then yeah maybe you kind of lost the plot. idk, i think you said a few weeks earlier that your workflow was to do two different parts and then try to get from A to B, in this case it really feels like you tried to force it, the second part sounds "too different"? i think the second "drop" (for lack of a better word) could just be the first part redone with slightly more nowaysj craziness (just the right amount) and its a tune. imo tbh bbq

:3 truth is i made those three cause i actually had no inspiration this week
so i let the pc do its thing and hope for the best
thanks for the feedback so far guys though and dfaultuzr def know what you mean but i kinda need a beat to lay out my structures but yeah i could replace them now or just mix dif maybe make two versions
never tried an actually ambient piece tbh
and yeah maybe 4 minutes? 7 is too much
and yeah take beatsy 2 as just a 15 minute sketchbook nothing serious so i didnt know what i was going for lowpass or dubby no clue haha some glitchy parts lol just random ideas
try to give feedback back tonight but after listening threw i jsut heard good shit so i will try to find flaws that arent there lol

ok here we go again :3
@mason its a wierd decision for me i do like it the lay out everything the melodies vocals maybe check the pitch tiny bit BUT sth feels of i cant tell maybe the bass is too far back i dunno. wouldnt change the beat,feels nice upfront . after listening through i would def bring the vocals in a tiny bit spare or you have some counterparts left in your acapella like love me and than the part after it or some other part?
and maybe you could add some more dubby effects just some big dubdelays moving into the back of the room.
but yeah the sounds and melody its all there just some minor tweeking
@jizzman
somnambowl
love your samples best shit but yeah this snare not sure about it feels too hard the rest is so smooth
maybe check the artist from the sample and find a snare from them lol? dunno if they or the person has have one (if you didnt play it yourself )
feel those shaky hi hats really smooth stuff
yeah just the snare bassdrum fits perfect and the sub so smooth
gen-anesthetics
again samples are everything ♥ this snare feels abit better but maybe still to harsh i cant tell its nice and everything i dunno personal taste obviously
but the rest just smooth those crackles really far out work nice feels like waves
bassline works nice again bassdrum maybe layer the first one of the first tune under this one?
and yeah i could again lol see some sends with some incidential reverb dub whatever to maybe even add a dif dimension like a reverb way back or sth more in the front of you
@defaultuzr
theres a idm song which the bassline reminds me of a basically plenty so yeah i love it haha i am not sure about some fx sounds maybe lowpass some or filter them abit?
melody is ace ♥ bit like isan even yeah i think this bass reminds me of isans basses you know cathart stuff like this has a strong idm feel to me personally could work in a film
bit of international pony haha just things going through my head but yeah reminds me of old good music times so just check those fxs but ♥
@hashkey
dig those intro sounds harsh bongos but nice still dig them
haha yeah i like this deep stuff
imo nice use of reverbs and delays makes me groove maybe a faster bongo rythmn form the get go after the drop not jsut di du make it di du dududud di du from time to time
dig this bass oldschool shit maybe make a bassbreak like 3 1 0 like semitones i dunno sth datsik made in the very beginning?
dig the sub very present
yeah overall feels just a bit to much empty in its space maybe add some more bongos and basschanges/breaks and i would love to hear some deep ganja talk like ras kitchen or sth inbetween :3
@jbe
not too keen on the extra snare main snare is nice. bassline is moving great dig the extra basses you added. yeah feels nice dig those melodies has more like a metal gear or like general game music vibe to me haha dunno why could see this in some game solid snake making a briefing your tune in the back or atleast the mellow parts :3 yeah just the second snare i dont feel(maybe quieter more reverb panning abit?)
@nowayjz
sounds like ghosthunters haha in the beginning
haha yeah i dig this in its extravagance its actually one of your easiest to get in tunes everything works into each other maybe make this break a tad smoother just a mini reverb will work i guess or sth dif just sth i miss here
yeah funky wierd stuff but honestly first drop feeled better for me maybe a mix of the first and the second is the solution imo
