Mike insulted the shit out of him and didn't give him the info he wanted, Walt's big head got the better of him.

Well I can't see him coming back from this particularly well at any point. Everything he does is getting desperate, I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to kill himself at some point soon

He's too far up his own ass to kill himself. The way he talked to Skylar and his little speech at the business meeting made that perfectly clear.

Police were going after him, would've caught him eventually, one less person that can talk and rat Walt out.

Also, I know Walt said "I realised I can get the names from Lydia" after he shot Mike, but maybe he realised beforehand, so as well as it being one less person that can talk to the feds, Walt had no need for Mike now, and knew he would cause trouble?

Some predictions (bearing in mind everything i've guessed so far has been wrong) :

Walt kills Skylar (make us all happy)
Jesse kills Walt (where's my money, bitch)
Hank commits suicide
Marie eats Holly
Walt Jr eats b-b-b-breakfast
Todd steals formula and sells it
Saul opens the door, gets on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur

Mike was great in the last ep, but Saul had the best line / delivery of the night with his crack about Mike being represented by the offices of "Moe, Larry, & Shemp".

whew, the last two+ pages of comedic hilarity has gotten me over my Mike mourning period, thank you to everyone involved.
