today @ reddit/r/dubstep:
(about oldskool dubstep/future garage) Cheerio good chaps, this tune is so clean one could eat off it. In fact, one might argue that it's too clean; so clean in fact that one might slip and bruise themselves were water applied. A warning sign is definitely necessary in order to prevent potential lawsuits.

vomit. Morrissey makes me want to peel off my thumbnails and then use them to scoop out my eyeballs.

glassjaw & shai hulud too

ironic how people thought they were emo, but most of them never knew these bands.... sort of like dubstep :6:
dont really think glassjaw are emo though... to take it to a whole new level though im going to see brand new on sunday...

actually i dont give a fuck they were one of my favourite bands and maybe they were a bit emo but devil & god is a fucking deep album

its so mind-boggling because as far as i know "emo" has always meant emotional, and a lot of times pointed to drab, sad, emotional music projects like The Goodlife, Cursive, other saddle-creek style stuff
and the logical equivalent in dubstep would not be the most tearout headbanging shit around, but rather, well... all the rest of it
very emotive music... bro stomp has technical skill and obvious appeal for a certain vibe, but its completely one dimensional... i mean it literally conveys one single emotion

you'd think an emo fan base would reach for more than that

maybe i have no clue wtf "emo" is. i always thought it was the getup kids and bright eyes

Brand New are fucking sick, and are on regular rotation in the G-Mobile.

Also, "In Circles" by Sunny Day Real Estate smashes it.

Makes me laugh how many kids were mad hyping bands like Brand New and Taking Back Sunday (who I also like, don't want any debate about their music) who now prefer to act like they never knew who they were.

nah i totally agree man. tbh when i was at school my mates took the piss out of me for listening to em so im used to it by now! thing is though when they changed their sound and tried to mature and make more grown up music loads of people were just like "wah they're not talking about breaking up with girls and high school any more so im not even gonna listen" = fan of fads and not music.

and also it's probably now those same kids who have the same haircut, they've just shaved a bit off the side and now listen to shit electro.

The change in (girls especially) going from tracksuits to hawthorn heights hoodies, skinny jeans and those vans with the checkboard patterns at my school was startling  and it was just as quick in reverse. All these girls with black streaks in their hair that went over one eye acting as though they were the biggest fans of Brand New ever are now just your standard skets.

Never understood why you could spend such a large portion of your life dedicating yourself to pretending you like something. So many regretted lip piercings

I did hang around with some of these people in passing, but my immediate group of mates all listened to completely different types of music but just didn't care haha.

I liked some TBS, but that wasn't really my thing.
I remember having to explain to people that when I say "emo" I don't mean douchebag shit like Escape The Fate. Sounds a bit familiar, doesn't it?

First two albums smash it! "Seventy Times Seven" is such a tune.
