ive heard boardwalk empire and fargo are both very good

i rated breaking bad, thought it was one of the best series i ever did seened

how do those series compare in terms of writing / acting quality?

boardwalk = better

fargo = not quite as good

Couldn't get into Boardwalk but I'm definitely gunna watch it.. Fargos brilliant.

Silicon Valley and Comedy Underground with Dave Attell are probably my favourite shows on atm.

Yeah, it's so damn good, every episode feels incredibly tense. The ending to episode 6 is a quality cliffhanger!

Love the scenes on death row too.

Boardwalk Empire is properly fantastic. It's really slow and the 20s stuff will piss some people off, but it's made worthwhile so many times. On top of Scorcese's influence the acting/cast is brilliant and it's got the writer from the Sopranos (and now the Wire too) so yeah, watch it. Too many good characters to name, but it does include my favourite ever by a mile.

It's the 5th and final season coming up, ending at the right time I think. Speaking of which the Shield was absolutely quality but I think probably dragged on (or perhaps 7 series is just too much of one show to binge watch in a short period) a bit. Rectify looks really promising.

Had no idea Christopher Evan Welch, the guy who plays Peter Gregory in Silicon Valley, died in December

yeah bummed me out too. such a talent and he's only been in very little.
he was in rubicon that unfortunately got cancelled but was pretty good.
