Paleman's sets are just incredible. The one he did on Just Jam is full of bangers too (link below, beware the mixing). Shame he's associated with SWAMP/School as most of these tunes will be rinsed to fuck before they get a release.
Siren by SLO is next level.

Yeah but it's also sick because his stuff has got a lot of attention as a result of that.

That paleman mix is terrible, simply because of the reason you stated 'full of bangers'. It's a shit mix, with shit mixing full of shit hyped bangers, everything I dont want in a mix haha.
Like I do like the odd banger, but dont want a mix full of them one after the other, just quickly mixed in.

Pale man has like what? One release? Much great stuff awaits but in the hands of loofah maybe the greatest band that never was......

agreed
felt like he wasn't really letting the tunes breathe for long enough

To be honest Paleman/Happa/Dusky etc. are why I don't listen to the Swamp81 show anymore. It's just boring house or electrohouse or 808 nothingness.
Compare that 'Furrball' tune to 'Work It' by Addison Groove and you tell me they're still on top. Completely lost the atmosphere that made them so interesting at first. Didn't take very long either.
Boddika is still the daddy though. And Zed Bias' 'Copper' is pretty ruffneck to be fair.

i like furrball but it's on a different vibe to older swamp stuff, yeah
don't think that's necessarily a bad thing though, they've still got darker tunes coming out, like boddika and zed bias' tunes
a bit more variation from 4x4 would be nice though

i agree. sorry for the negativity but - while they used to be exciting - the latest Swamp shows have been pretty bland imo.
this might be indicative of personal development in house/techno but it's ironic considering the label was formed in response to the stale state of certain areas of the scene.
happily, though, Boddika and Zed Bias continue to impress - and the Norwood Soul Patrol show is completely on point.

The show has been quite poor recently. For a monthly show you'd think there would be a wider selection than Boddika into Dusky into Paleman into Joy O into Zed Bias into a random Redlight alias back into Boddika. Just seeing the ease people put tracklists together on here and the amount of tunes I've already heard puts me off listening.

Exactly, where are the old tunes? It's all unreleased swamp stuff everyone's already bored of.

this is why hessle shows are so good, half of the tunes played seem to be random bits you can find on discogs for £2/3 cos they haven't been hyped to death
