Terrible squad. How Micah Richards doesnt even get on the reserve list is beyond me. Downing and Carroll have 4 goals between them this season. Adam Johnson has 6 in 26 games. Welbeck is also dog. We will be playing Defoe upfront by himself for the first 2 games. I can see us not scoring a goal then. At least I have less than zero expectations now.

Nah Carrol and Defoe upfront, Hodgson really likes 442

Carrol is good at holding the ball up as well which will help get defoe in the game

That's a shit reason for picking a forward IMO.

Agreed but that's probably the reason he's picked him
Edit: Could have picked crouch to do the same thing plus he's more likely to score a few

Nah Carroll's better than Crouch which may be damned by feint praise but I'm sure it's right.
Gerrard got the captaincy which is awkward unless RH goes against his fundamentals and goes with a 3 of Parker Lampard and Gerrard cos Lampard and Gerrard will be worse than it ever was especially in front of a rapidly declining Terry.

Tim Howard has more goals and assists than Downing this season.

Come on mag, let's see your hand?
Maybe 2 was a little too generous, but I think the only ones I have a real problem with these days are John Terry (racist) and Ashley Cole... but I'm even finding it hard to dislike Cole too much now. He's an absolutely phenomenal player. If I'm honest about it, I'm just jealous we couldn't keep him at Arsenal.
The England cricket team disgrace themselves far more often than the football team... Chris Lewis even went down for Coke smuggling the other year - I've never heard of an England footballer getting so drunk on tour he had to be rescued from a pedalo either!
At the end of the day they're sports players played to entertain us with their on-pitch skills; they're not men of the cloth, Blue Peter presenters or even politicians and we shouldn't hold them to the same standards. If they didn't have unnaturally high self-confidence bordering on arrogance, it's unlikely they ever would've made it to the top of their game and, largely because of that, the idea that they have to be perfect role models is a bit mental. It's not Wayne Rooney's fault if kids are being raised ignorantly enough to idolise him anymore than it'd be Eminem's... when was it that we lost the distinction between "entertainer" and "teacher"?

Yeah, no surprise.
John Barnes is probably waiting by the phone right now.

They might as well go for Hansen with Lawrenson as his assistant.
Not sure who there even is available at the moment
