Is it really distorted? I haven't dl'ed yet. Will laters. I'm kind of up the creek this week. Have been doing a luciferianism in world history and contemporary film seminar, been taking up all my time. I need to get cracking. ;-)

Yeah sounds like it went through a tube screamer. All the fuzz is getting pulled down when I pitch shift it to a slower time. I think I'm gonna warp the sample first so it doesn't pitch down but I already chopped a full pad set so I'll have to do that over again :crybaby:

Prime example of why there needs to be independent time stretch and pitch shift in the sampler. What if I want to tune some chops differently so they're playing different harmony? Great but now it's out of time, so I gotta make a copy of the original wav, rewarp and repitch, and then slice it back up and put it in the sampler. Fucktorch.

:h: yes, this is why we sample vinyl! Love that sound, that is a good thing, dude. I've got songs that are only about that sound.

And further, it is so dreamy when that sound is sidechained or ducked, the way those fuzzy feathers reemerge (is that a word, it looks wrong? haha) from the tail of what is sidechaining. Ahhhh. Just hearing that in my head sounds so good. But I'm way way into ASMR. Honestly, it is mostly what I'm doing with music.

Didn't know anyone else into this. You've outed my secret sample resource!
Binaural head scratches for shakers, dunkno.

And I do like scratchy textures but I'm not as fond of distortion in the 3-5k range, you know? End up having to roll off too much high end when the sample's pitched down. Combined with the necessary low end roll off, you get a small bandpassed sample that sounds like it's being played through a drinking straw. Still workwithable though.

Also the issue is compounded by the fact that the song is really fast and I'm tryna slow it up to 82bpm or some shit hahah

 I said in the beat maker thread I was torn between a really clean open guitar tune to sample or a really shitty-gritty tune. The break is nice tho'
