Seriously though It would be cool to see DiCaprio in a Charlie Kaufmann film or something equally challenging. Thought he was great in Django, but again even Jamie Foxx can be good when it's someone like Tarrantino directing.

I don't see how anyone can see Gilbert Grape or Basketball Diaries and not call them challenging.

Or even Revolutionary Road, tbh..

Or This Boy's Life..

Django Unchained was just a poor movie of Tarrantino's hands. Even the soundtrack was bad and that's something you rarely hear of the man. Give him a script with a lot of dialogue and he's showing his skills.

Yeah that's probably part of the problem with him as an actor, that he was in Gilbert Grape and was so convincing that early on in his career. That has probably been to much to live up to. Never go full retard :W: I thought basketball diaries was some campy tv movie and haven't seen it, or this boys life(?).

It's silly to argue over his films because almost everyone has a favourite one of his.
But I think Django is mine, because it attempts to fuck around with the notion of what a cowboy was and that provokes a lot of people, eventhough it's probably more 'accurate' in some ways than most westerns.

Inside Llewyn Davis.

One of the weaker Coens Bros movies imho. It's not a bad movie: the humour is very dark but the dialogues aren't as entertaining as in most other movies. Maybe it was the era/social strata the movie takes place in...it wasn't that appealing.

Still, it's a pretty typical 'loser in the wrong place in the wrong time making the wrong decisions' kinda movie like they do it best. But less focus on humour and dialogue and more on the actual music wasn't really my cup of tea. I found it an enjoyable story that provided a chuckle or two. If you're into folk music perhaps you can enjoy it more.

Still much better than American Hustle for example...wow what a piece of overrated crap.

I'm between a 6,5 and a 7/10 here to be honest.

Watched quite a few the past days. Two that stood out are Being John Malkovich and Limitless.
Didn't care much for Argo, although it's a very engaging story. Rush was good, but I'd watch the documentary instead.

Epic

Not as good as Wreck It Ralph or Brave, but still enjoyable. Christopher Waltz is spot on as the villain.

Both of them are worth watching... I was having this debate with my lady sometime last year and she made me watch them. I'm definitely of the opinion that Leo can ACT, he just always ends up in "almost award-worthy" films.

I'll giggle if someone plays Leo in a biopic and wins an Oscar for it.

Being john is amazing. The best of the film is the character of the boss of the office at the begining :cornlol:

It's only been out for a month, I haven't seen it yet either. Assuming you're talking about the Golden Globe. Or am I missing some inside joke here

It's in the part of Belgium where you can understand everyone. It used to be called Little Amsterdam in the late Nineties/early naughties. It's one of the only places in Belgium big enough to be called a city but doesn't qualify because it doesn't have a hospital. It's in the middle of nowhere just the way we like it.

The best side!

I Saw The Devil. Not quite the standard of oldboy but a great film, ending was a little unsatisfying.
