As for making people aware, I really don't care who is aware. If I liked that sort of music, I'd like it if I was 1 in a group of hundreds of millions, or if I was the only person in the world who liked it. It's really not that big a deal to make people "aware".
Do I respect him? I don't know him. Don't know anything about him. Without this forum, I wouldn't know any of his tunes, and I could only name that scary monsters track off the top of my head. He hasn't created anything that's innovative or eye-opening, and he owes a large portion of his fame to bigger names like Deadmau5 (Let's face it, if you're as big a name as Deadmau5, he could hype ANYONE and they'd get tonnes of fans). He's just the big commercial act in the mainstream of dubstep, and I don't particularly feel he's deserving of my respect, and I'm sure he doesn't care either way. He's making his dubstep hay while the dubstep sun is still shining. There are people before him who have done the same thing, and there will be people after him.
Exactly. You don't need talent or even be able to make good music to win a grammy, or even to be particularly successful. I'll start by saying that when I was first told about Deadmau5 he was described to me as similar to Daft Punk and Boys Noize. I found him to be very boring based on the tracks I checked out by him but wouldn't go as far as to say I hated it. I can't remember which tracks I checked out by him as this is ages ago. Of those 4 tracks you've suggested the top 2 sound kind of like shitty epic trance to me and I didn't find them at all interesting. The bottom 2 are definitely the best tracks I've heard from him though and I'd say they are ok. They are both about twice as long as they should be and have cheesy breakdowns but the better bits of them are kind of like minimal techno/house and I have no doubt he's been influenced by them.
