Because I had a mobile recording rig before any of this came together. That is my buddies macbook in front of my macbook pro. The macbook pro seems to be working just perfectly and is better than some desktops so I'll keep using it until I need a desktop. We were listening to some tunes at the time the pics were taken. And no, I don't have any tunes up at the moment.

My midi chain and patches don't give me a problem what so ever. I just turn things on a start playing. The only patching I'm doing is on the modular. Knowing signal flow also helps when trouble shooting issues, so you don't have to spend all day trying to figure something out. :D

Blah blah blah

Still settin everything up at the moment, but you get the idea. Adding a bunch more soon. Been engineering for a while, just set up the production rig.
do you have tunes posted anywhere? i'd like to hear what comes from this setup!
I guess you didn't get the memo that it's not what you use but how you use it? You people make me laugh sometimes. I have no clue what this guy makes but I have seen it soooo many times where a really sick producer uses a beat up laptop and dj headphones on the couch and another guy with a virtual music store in his room just sits there and makes patches and troubleshoots the midi chain all day.

:6:
what made me chuckle a bit is all that gear and as it appears to be using a laptop instead of a desktop :(
I quit smoking a week ago today! There is probably a little edge to everything I post :6:

But yeah of course he has no tunes to post

Is that a Tenori-on? Hows it treating you?

Its great. It works perfectly controlling up to sixteen channels simultaneously on the virus. We have the moog being sequenced by the machine drum and the serge has its own 64 step touch keyboard sequencer.

Mac Pro, 23" Cinema Display, Axiom25, padKontrol, Korg Zero4, Kontrol X1, Audio-Technica ATH-M50's and AKG K271 MKII's.
The combo of a Zero4, Kontrol X1 & Traktor Pro has been mind-blowing!

There is more than one type of mixology going on there

I been cleaning up in the studio all day. I put together my Nord Lead 2 and set it up. It got owned in a move... missing some keys now :o but still works so fuck it I set it up. I set up my antique subwoofer again too. Hooked it up to the dj rig. The neighbors are going to get the world exclusive later on

Very new to this, what hardware do you need in between decks, mixer, computer.. and the monitors.. i think its a pa system or amplifier but im not sure exactly. Tryin to figure out all the pieces of the puzzle for a small home system with tables computer and monitors.

i know, complex...
but let me break it down so you can take it all in.
from left to right.

Boost energy drink, 1ltr - its like a VST, but for people...makes everything sound better until you have too much.

Bag of sweets - for that added sugar rush, layering up that energy that is needed for creativity.

Laptop, a really bad one - the kind that cant really take your software, and therefore resorts to clicks and pops...just so your .mp3 version sounds good in comparison.

FL studio - standard

Skullcandy Hesh headphones - yes, i said skullcandy.........dont even go there
not a lot has changed in 6 months, except for getting a £50 refund for my broken skullcandys
and paying £60 to get some HD215s.

i know you all want a setup like this :m:
