Just to clear up one point. The grammys are nominated/voted on by NARAS members only. It has nothing to do with charts or sales. Its the music "industry" voting on itself. You have to petition and show proof that youre eligible to be a member of NARAS. Of course there are politics, but this notion that people win grammys solely because of popularity is off the mark.
The other point to make is that you don't get nominated for a grammy unless your business end of it is in order (mgmt, publicity team, agencies, booking ). I think many of you are riding skrillex/deadmaus purely on popularity, and no ones talking about the fact that they were heading for mainstream appeal from the beginning. You don't sign and pay for a $15k-30k per year PR publicity agency to get you no results.
When James Blake's PR team rinsed out the word "dubstep" to be attached to his name towards all media outlets, thats not coincidental. Thats the machinery working an artist into the mainstream. Same with Korn.

Hang on, that's a little unfair, James was posting on here before he even blew up, and was identified with the Dubstep sound before the radio and TV appearances, might of gone in his favour but I don't think it was a out and out marketing strategy.
