lol yeah, was expecting walt to make some sort of a mistake which leads to someone finding the bit of ricin at the beginning of the episode... this real ending is a lot more plausible though, just have to live with a memory of hank taking a shit for the next 9 months as my last recollection of this show lol

I just have a feeling now that this was all a bit sloppy.

We see the book in this season (episode ?) as Walt is taking a shower. And they eventually just used it like that. This is really a lot of 'luck' factors the writers have all put together and comes a cross a bit sloppy. Thus, the Gretchen theory becomes ever more unlikely. I think this is a bit of an easy let-off compared to the usual well thought out intricacy's in the plot.

There is still one bit of interesting info with which they can go several ways: last seasons première, where Walt is shown I believe at his 52nd birthday, some nine months after this latest episode. So he'll certainly still be alive and well by then but what will be happening around him?

Anyone think Walt's impending demise is actually a red herring too? He might live, somehow, and have to punch another hairdryer.

All of vics friends end up dead or in jail. His family is gone to witness protection. He loses his job on the force and as part of his plea keep stays a cop but has to work a desk job (his ultimate nightmare)


I've always thought breaking bad could end like that. Walt loses Jesse, Saul, his family, his house, and his meth business and is just stuck with himself. Like he'd almost rather be dead than have that happen.

At some level, I have to just drop my criticism and realize that Vince Gilligan & Co got kind of fucked over by AMC with this half and half bullshit. Breaking Bad is a show that has ALWAYS thrived on the slow burn. Seasons 2, 3, and 4 didn't even start to pick up until episode 8. Don't get me wrong, all the episodes before were tension filled masterpieces, but in season 5 they had 8 episodes and could not do the same pacing they did previously. So they were forced to jump around a bit to move the story along.

Whatever, it's cool. Best show ever.

i'm assuming the whole gretchen black thing comes from gray matters being created as a combination of their surnames

white + schwarz (german for black) = gray

no one seems to have picked up on the note in leaves of grass using the spelling "honour" (not the american spelling)

gale was picked up by because fring was running a scientific scholarship in memory of his dead friend/brother (whatever relation the guy that was partner in pollos hermanos and got shot by don eladio was), and if i remember correctly gale was at oxford or cambridge... but i may be wrong on that

then again they've spelt "favorite" the american way so fuck knows what that's about. maybe just breaking bad making a rare continuity fuck up

in the inscription, GB spelled it as 'honour'. which seems like just the type of thing a vegan liberatarian meth cook would do - be a pretentious dick
