@squidbot thanks a lot mate appreciate it, really liking your growly bassline and melodies, id have a highpass filter on it to start off with, then when the main drum pattern kicks in id turn it off to unleash the bass haha

@crimsonghost this is great, something different which is important, love the hum the bass makes when the notes are held down, those vocals fit nicely too!
@eyesic mixdown on this is tightt,its got a dark vibe to it which i feel, id suggest you maybe automate the lowpass filter cutoff on your main synth up and down slowly just so it adds to the progressive feel, and maybe a nice hi hat shuffle on the second drop!
@ada im more of deep house kindly guy, but i can appreciate your week here! really like the melody, feel good vibe! id add a compressor and limiter to the hi hat that comes in at 1.47 so it stands out a bit more, good work!

Crimson – I like your snare and vocal samples a lot. I can’t really hear the clipping on the sample that Ada was talking about so I’m not sure about that… The only thing I can really think of is maybe add another cymbal or hi hat that sounds kinda different than the ones you are using now to give your percussion a little more variety. Everything else sounds really good- very calm and deep.

Eye sic – nice deep feel to this track. It sounds pretty well mixed, the only thing I can think of is maybe add another melody on top of what you have to make it even more full sounding. Good stuff though

Ada- very nice chords/melody you wrote. Very beautiful. Maybe add a little more high frequencies to your lead. The track sounds like its almost being lowpassed a little bit too much. Very lovely start so far


Luke- the levels sound pretty balanced to me. Maybe you could boost the bass on the kick a tiny bit. And raise the high freqs on your open hat that hits on every off beat a tiny bit. It sounds really solid though so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Now you just need some vocals

Crimson - vocals, melodic elements all sound good. Gonna have to go with mtl6 on the cymbals though.

LukeRaith - I can really feel the hip hop-ishness, I hope you add a lot more to it! Levels sound pretty good to me, maybe less high end? I don't know.

mtl6 - sounds great to me, everything is in the right place. The track as a whole though seems kind of "easy listening" -esque to me.

@mtl6 hi hat programmings sweet mate, its got a really smooth and soothing flow, get some vocals over it and your onto a winner.
made this tonight, i reckon some female vocals would be nice over this, early days though, let me know what you think!

@:LukeRaith Nice deep/classic house feel to this. The kick is too loud imo though and the claps seem really muffled. The mix as a whole also feels quite central and almost as if you've lowpassed the whole thing. Definitely add some more elements imo, and play around with panning your perc wider. Vocals would be good, to keep everything flowing.

@mtl6: Intro is pretty awsm, love the synths and punchy kick. The track progresses nicely with the added elements. I like the koto that sort of twinkles in the background. Vocals on that break would sound epic imo, some heavily reverbed ghostly ones to lead into the second part of the track. Nice work on this man, mix sounds good!

@Eye-siC: I like the droney intro and the perc is really nice. There's a nice amount of air in the mix and the bass that comes in is awesome imo, really punchy and thumpy. I really like were you're going with this, but I feel it needs something more, perhaps a new lead introducing or another element within the bass, but just something to keep it fresh.

@mthrfnk: Joyful tune, alot of avicii vibes in the melody feeling. Not really my cup of tea, so im probably not the one to put too much opinion into it although it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

@mtl6: Really lovin this shit all together! Altough the snappy drums in the bridge at 1.18 might be a bit too much.

@lukeraith: Same over here, realy cool house vibe, the female panting and everything. Although that weird harp-something at 2.35 is something you could skip.

This is my most recent project. I have come to a complete brain freeze. I know some mixing is in order, i just need some fresh input.

@Alexandercunningham - cool sound man, sounds quite James Blake esque to me with those vocals. I would take the kicks level down quite a bit and up the snare/clap. Also mess around with the velocities on the hats, sounding a wee bit mechanical to me.

@mthrfnk - sweet vibes going on here man nice one. cant really give any criticism to this haha apart from i'd like to hear more of the kick at the drop and maybe layer it with a more subby one.

@LukeRaith - nice house tune coming along. however the drums sound very muddy to me. maybe get some other samples involved and some mixing/eqing is in order.

@mtl6 - wicked chilled atmosphere. this would definitely kill with some vocals on it. i would variate some of the chord sequences or melodies though just to make it more interesting.

@Eye-siC - massive tune man i love it. sounds to me like the kick is a bit low though. and i would switch it up a little in the middle so its not all the same.

would love some criticism on my new tune as well please. haven't properly mixed it down yet

Freakquency- wow I really like the bass that comes in at around the one minute mark. Pretty crazy stuff. The mix might need just a bit of cleaning up (the kick sounds a little muddy to me) but I think it’s a good start. Maybe add a melody/arp over the drop?

Alexander- really like the palette of sounds you are working with. I might turn the kick down just a tad though, it’s a little loud at the beginning. If you are looking for more inspiration on the track, trying switching up the lead synth… the one the sounds like a guitar I think… and do the same riff with a different synth maybe? Also I wanna hear those chords more! They are pretty nice

Mthrfnk- killin it man. I like this style a lot. I think your hi hats might have a bit too much of those really hi freqs so I would maybe low pass them at ~16 khz. Also I wanna hear that piano come through in the mix a tad bit more. I mean I like your vibrato lead a lot but I feel like its almost stealing too much of the melody if you know what I mean. Nice track

Luke- I kinda just wanna echo what other people said about the clap.. I would change it with one with more balanced frequencies. Like I said earlier I like your vibe on this one though.. I think you can add something special to spice it up a bit

@mtl6:Groovy shit right here. Maybe add a few more elements, make it sound fuller. Little melody starting around 1:10 could do with some work imo. Not a very interesting melody, and I feel like if you had made it more interesting, it could definetely bring the track up a level. Some variation with it aswell.

@freakquency: Intro reminds me of oldschool games for a reason, not that i've played too many haha. Heavy drop, bass sound is nice. Nice groove here. The basses could do with some layering to cover more of the spectrum, or a more constant pad in the background. The differences in the two basses that play around 0:55 is too much imo, one is more in your face than the other, try compressing them together, make them compliment each other better. The kick could be switched out imo. Snare could use some compression and maybe a tad transient shaping. A 4x4 rythm could be nice for a switch up, along with the breakdown synths, would add to the whole old shcool game thing I mentioned.

@Alexandercunningham: Nice intro here, powerful kick. Ambience is beautiful. Tried adding a subtle piano, maybe even a reversed one? Could add another dimension to the tune. Vocals are nice, maybe distort them a bit or just boost the highs, bring them more up in the mix. Some hihats on the left side would be nice aswell, the ones you have now are panned so much to the right, my left ear is missing that. Switch between differently panned hats maybe. Very chill tune, would love some more sub in this, apart from the kick.

@mthrfnk: Beautiful intro, the foley really adds another dimension to this. Love the lead. Feel like the drop is kind of a let down though, I just don't like it when tracks play the drop with all it's fullness, but without the beat, then build it up and drop the same thing, just with a beat now. This is just me as a listener tho, some people might love it, i dunno haha. Feel like the melody could use some variations aswell. Nice one though

Aiit, time for what I've been messing with the past few days haha. Mixdowns are probably shit, trying out my new headphones and they are so different from the ones I used, have to get more used to the sound they produce.
These are just 2 things I've been messing with at 100bpm, completely different styles. No idea if I'm gonna turn them into full tunes, but we'll see. Would love some input on them

re: your piano track. i like it. very lush- i am a sucker for delays on pianos though so maybe a light delay would be nice. maybe not who knows. also i think there might be a little bit too much sub bass in the end of your clip i would turn it down by like 1db or so

the other song kinda reminds be of some bassnectar tracks if maybe you added another melody on top... like an arp or something. interesting track so far though
