Was just in LA, stopped in the TMC film festival to see a restored version of The Good The Bad and the Ugly. I spent a good 10'th of the movie with my fingers in my ears. Any part where it was just score, (which is infamous[ly dope]) I had to cover up. Just piercingly painful. I don't know how, IN THIS DAY AND AGE, shit like that happens.

ok really good tunes this week but i try to find sth i dont feel
@dfaultuzr
hm cant find much really. this dark bass maybe bring it in more often (1.10)
percs are nice. maybe move this breathing synth abit back in parts like lowpass or down in volume
have to check for the other one later cause i move down the submissions
@jbe
haah yeah

vocals are great. yeah really nice one.maybe add some mini hi hat breaks after some snares but yeah you switch it up sounds nice. hm personally i would even go for a bit drier snare tiny bit
1.38 really nice melody but seems to be a bit on the right? haha but yeah all blends nicely .
any chance to tlll me the acapella lol would love to cut some parts myself
@zoso
love this clap/snare reminds me of one tune but i cant remember which one
really dark lots of incidentals
yeah like it maybe it needs something on top a big pad or melody or underneath reece sub? hm dunno maybe not haha but yeah i think it could benefit of some reeces or sth dark underneath or on the sides
@jizzman
party oha yeah it works haha nice sample hm i would have loved to have more of a major lazer vibe haha harder snare i guess but its nice maybe make a pumping version for the fun of it
youcan
of grid? i like it though . maybe smooth those mp3 highs? dunno if its that with some smooth eq or tube distortion but love the vocals you throw into the blender haah
tuna flip
you like your stumbling beats :3 yeah haha definitly flipped it
@nowaysj
tuna flap
haah i like the solo melody on top yeah works nice haha hm its abit sharp but not too much i think
but yeah maybe 1-2 db down or sth ?
haha but its cool sth different
defaultuzr flip
really smooth you cut the vocals out of the mp3? sounds fairly nice
yeah nice instrumental maybe some breaks in the break:3

Thanks man. It's not actually an acapella. It's that veela sample pack. I bought it a long time ago to help with using vocals cause I'm absolutely awful with them outside of remixes, but I actually completely forgot I even had it. I found it the other day and just pulled a couple phrases out that I thought sounded good.

what? no nowaysj tuna this week? inadmissible
@Relka/Jizzman: liking the overall vibe, the vocal samples sounds a bit weird, not sure if its because of how you treated it or if it's the quality of the sample, probably the latter. i wish there was more going on percussion-wise, i feel the sound palette almost calls for more juke-esque use of shuffle and triplets, but then again maybe it would be too much. i think some sparse use of reverb/delay could help make the beats more interesting. also could be just my headphones but the overall mixdown sounds a bit muddy at times.
@Demain: nice one. though i feel the main bass guitar is eating way too much of the headroom, like for exemple, the jb-ish "uh!" in your break is sometimes barely audible, maybe lower the volume and/or eq some of the guitar out? good work on the break, i wish you used more of the bongo-ish fill you have (the one around 0:20), like slice the hits and maybe see if you can do an additional percussion line with these? or maybe that's too much.
@JBE/Twisted: great atmosphere in the intro, as usual, mixdown is on point, not much too critique tbh. not sure about the melody coming in around 1:25, i'd maybe try to either make it a bit more complex or use a different instrument (but then again, probably personal taste...). the arpeggiated synth you have in the intro/breakdown/outro on the other end
@Bud: Power R&ngers> quite liking this actually, decent tearout without going too much into bro vulgarity territory
KLangzauber: this one's right up my alley, is it the same weird instrument that you posted a picture of a few weeks earlier? really liking the texture of your drum hits and how they blend in with the crackly background too, good work
@zosomagik: new perspective: uncommon but actually quite enjoyable, i feel the main melody could use some more variations if you decide to make this longer, also i like the 8-bit-ish glitches you have going on, they should be louder in the mix imo
tuna3: nice little beat, not really feeling the chiptune-y melody tho, maybe another counterpoint melody would help make it less repetitive? good work on the beats though, but some of the glitches are maybe too much i find

How's everyone feelin that sample? I'm having a tough time with it, but I'm really trying to switch up my usual routine.

Fucking love both. The song, I think, is pretty hard to work with. Not a lot of open parts, but there is stuff in there. Like what what I got going on, very stereolab minus the cool aesthetic.

Yeah, the break is harrrrrrd. Them drums just hit. But yeah the sample is a little weird, I have some like disco shit going on with it. Very weird for me.

I really love these sample kinds of contests, just to see where everyone goes with it. In production, there are so may avenues, opportunities you have to choose amongst. Like with this one, I was at a pretty hard hip hopish beat pretty quickly, and just drove past. You're ending up at disco

I just love the fertility. If you have a mind, and a creative urge, you can just transform things
