Guardians Of The Galaxy
Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Liked the sillier vibe than the Avengers thread of films has been. Random as fuck post credits though
12 Monkeys
Classic.
The Colony
Terribly predictable. Nice atmospherics but cliched as fuck in terms of characters, plot and dialogue. Came across like a jumped up Screamers.
Robocop
Not surprising, shite compared to the original. Like they've tried to make it for a post-Dark Knight crowd. Special effects are a bit ropey as well. Not great, so avoid unless you're really fucking bored.

In The Loop
Great comedy. Excellent performance by Capaldi who I did not know before, as I have yet to see The Thick of It. I'm guessing a lot of you have seen that already?
Gandolfini is also very funny in the film.
Been watching Maron as well. Great if you like 'dark' comedy. Lot of good guest roles in it as well.
I have been listening to the podcast for a while and it's a nice addition to that. Guests vary from alternative comics to musical icons like John Cale, always interesting.

Millers Crossing
My memory of the first time watching this one has revealed to be quite faded after this second watch. Incredible story, fantastic acting. Hard to expect less from the Coen Brothers, even though this is one of their earlier films. I spotted a brief Sam Raimi cameo, who has worked closely with the Coens, which I definitely missed the first time too. Someone should get J.E Freeman out of retirement and back into acting.

I've never felt more anxious about a film than I do for Sin City: A Dame to Kil for. After the first movie was out I was aching for more, but as the years have gone on I've sort of lost faith with a lot of modern 'sequels/remakes'.
I'll admit, the trailer and snips don't really give me much confidence. It looks all style and no substance, but even the style looks a little flat
Apparently there's two stories that aren't in the original comics as well, so let's see how that goes.

I hate sin city. What a complete fail of film. The comics are nothing special too imo

The characters never died, this was very very annoying and i found the last hour of film really irrelevant. They tried to keep the image of the comic too much, and it didnt work imo, the aesthetic seemed to be too forced to me.

the best bits for me were really the very beginning and the very end, with the hitman character

Raising Arizona
I've recently been going back on a few Coen Brothers favourites. Second time watching this one, and in my opinion, top notch film-making in every way possible, the attention to detail is incredible. It has Nicolas Cage in one his earliest and best roles and many other standouts including frequent Coen collaborators John Goodman and Frances McDormand. This time I spotted a nod to The Shining early on in a mirror reflection scene and after some research, it turned out to have a second nod to Dr Strangelove (also by Kubrick) in the very same scene which just blew me away. I could go on and on about the little things that make this film special, but if you've seen it and are curious, check out the Trivia page on IMDb to start with.

I'll have to check that one out this weekend. Big Coen fan.
Just watched Heat again. Keep coming back to it every 1, 2 years. Great no-nonsense
action drama. Suspenseful for the whole 3 hours.
