@siderealdb - awesome vibe man really loving your patchwork and that lead melo... your percs are pretty tight too, imo though, the whole thing sounds a bit dynamically dry to me and it seems like your synths might have some meat on the low end clouding things up a bit. Shit moniotrs tonight though, so dont take my word on it unless someone else complains. Solid track though man.

Reignz - dums are bangin broski but I see people have told you that already!

dubplate guy, when I first turn it on it instantly puts me in the mind of old atari games, and the intro drums really add to that vibe, I feel like an 8bit link saving princess zelda. Huge synth patches, but really man you mgiht find that sometimes staying with just one or two patches and getting them really grooving together can be alot mroe effective then having so many different sounds going on it once. Its hard to focus on the groove of it when the patch changes constantly all Im saying.

Ive got these two Im just now enabling downloads on, so kinda spam again, I tihnk I mgiht have evn posted these here once but idc.

The first ones from a tune battle with nowaysj, Im making it available to celebrate my victory. The second is a melodic tune I wrote, making it free to celebrate the mickey mouse label I was in negotiation with dicking me around! Woo!

Here you go guys. two free ones. grab em befor eI lock the downlaods agian.

As always feedback appreciated or comments if your gonna download them or w.e.... just lemme know if people are still listenin out there. :wink:

@basic a, I like lifes regrets, nice piano and bass parts, and it all works together nicely, not so keen on your tune battle one but that's just me it seems, it just seems to kinda go nowhere :S But life's regrets is quality, nice sample usage too.

@dubplate guy nightmares is a good tune, nice work on the bass sounds, love all the little 8-bitish sounds although at times they feel a little out of time or something. Overall it's a good tune though.

@urbannerd62 very cool tune, very slick, love your percussion and the bass line and the lead parts, all works great together- props man :)

@ nftfhx - awesome remix is awesome, don't even need to say anything else, big tune man.

@ Joma, red pill is wicked, love the 8-bit sounds, and the percussive pattern you went with is really typical of old nintendo games, this sounds like it could easily have been pulled of an old snes game, only thing I'd say is that the stringish parts sound a little out of key, dunno if that was intentional or not though.

@ reignz do people even need to crit your work anymore lol, quality tune, not a bad thing to say about it, as usual

@sideralb you die tonight is sick man, seriously immense tune the drums sound a little lost on my speakers at times though, but other than that it's amazing.

the track, I want to be evil, in your sig is sick as well,

@ webang northern lights is a quality tune, very well put together arrangement wise, props man.

@ptrn I think I heard this on soundcloud the other day but it's a great track man, nice sounds, nice vocal sample, nice percussion and ambience.

@den5hion That remix is seriously amazing man, love it.

@pain, some great sounds in that track, love the chord progression and the bass, percussion works great over it all. Nice lead sounds too. Love the 8-bit-esque parts too. Reminds me of the Mako Reactor in FF7 - seriously cool tune.

Here's some 8-bit I threw together, not dubstep, but I kinda want to see what people think

Yeah man the tune battle ones a little rough, I did my best considering he called me out into that battle when I was clear out of state with nothing but some sony cans for backup! but, its not the most progressive thing in the world, I probably should have reached for a modulation change in the second drop instead of just changing the bass partening and percussion... meh... was a real slap together...

glad your feelin lifes regrets though, it came together pretty fast too but IMO I did alot mroe technically with this one then the battle tune.

:lol:

No Im just fuckin with you man, check your soundcloud, I gave your sig tracks a listen, lovin the vibe. Only criticism I have is you havent speant enough time in the moneyshot thread, but then again, neither have 99% of the people around here so meh ... your really good with percussion, but Id practice getting your shuffled hits sounding more natural. Synth works going ace so is incidental sampling, no real criticism everything has that old school crunch too it n really like that. Lean more about bus effecting, your music will thank you later...

and yeah the best way to get feedback isnt to give it at random, but to build up two lists man... on one list have producers you chat with and djs you trust. Keep these guys close. On the other hand have fans. Keep these guys an email away at all times. Prioritze whee you get your feedback. I would rather have 3 comments from people I know are looking at my music objectively and trying to help me learn then have 100 comments from fans saying'omg sick choon bruv!' ... make sense? With time, youll get those 100 kids telling you sick choon, but the real reward will be when the couple who matter give you respect. and the last bit of advice in this market I can give you, is to remember not to let yourself get put on everyones fan list. Try and be in that top 5 feedback who matter category. Youll get better crit yourself by doing it.

@dubplate guy
I like the sounds a lot, concur with what Basica A said about the mastering of one or two synths instead of soo many and maybe simplify the drums in some parts
as I am constantly learning that less is more.

@Basic A
untitled cause it is totally gives off those Distance vibes which i think is a compliment. dark and brooding definitely, really like the snare and I think that this track could definitely be used as part of a soundtrack for a heist gangster drug film

life regrets is on a whole other level, reminds me of a cityscape translated into the realm of sound, sparse beat nice and cerebral sub and the ever so faint siren in the background reminding me that things aren't going to always be okay

@kaori breathe

you should do video game soundtracks find some indie game developers who are still making some 8 bit games and get on it, huge track love that glitch snare
it's like for akira the video game or something something awesome that doesn't yet exist

@Eraredux

your shit is ill, phat fucking synths and perfectly syncopated drum patterns, dirty ass snare fucking automated wobble makes me feel like i'm in the clubs on some ketamine. I think you should double drop the synth at some point other than that just keep doing what you're doing

Feedback for yours:

@reignz- Holy shit your killing it with those sounds. Had to amputate my head after this.

@nftfhx- Love the progression and the vox sample. Sounds like she occasionally ducks the music behind her though, like around 3:29-3:33 and 3:57-4:00. Brightening up the piano for a little solo here and there would be a nice touch too I think.

@Basic A- untitled, Dope track. Love how the bass drops into the wobble, and how clean the drums are. Think you have more room to throw in sfx, vocals with delay, and/or chimes. Dope though.
--Lifes Regrets, reminds me of being in a hotel room after a night of snorting coke, and not having any left. Once again, it could use a random sound more often, though the sirens a nice touch.

@kaiori breathe- Loving it. You inspired me to go on youtube and relive my old nintendo days. Shit I might give this a shot.

@EraREdux- Definitly got some rythm son. Bass is nice and fat too. I guess the vocal sample saying, "Say Somethin" was for all of us. I was gonna do the secret message thing, but I guess you beat me to it. Nice work bro.

Update about mine:

Can't really mix at my place at the moment due to a roommate who's allergic to vibrations, and a neighbor who collects basset hounds. I really wish I had a sword.

I have such a hard time convincing myself to throw incidentals in some tunes :? I know its something I have to break myself of. Untitled was made to fast for it though, I definately would have but I was being pressed for time on that one ...

freebies though right? thanks for the advice though man, watch out for the next couple drops... im transitioning from shameless minimalism to shamelss maximalism :lol: ... theyll be different :wink:

I'm gonna quote this as an answer to your question kaiori :) Basic A kinda nailed it there.

Big feedback post incoming:

-Droneproductionz: well... im not digging the vocal sample at all... The bass was kinda basic as was the wobble. to be abit harsh I wouldn't post a first production here yet. Experiment with stuff and read alot of the forum posts. There's so much knowledge in there... Post some stuff if you're really confident that your production is worth checking.

-We Bang : nice to see you used my tip :) sounds way better man

-buddstep: ugh seriously man? try to seperate the vocal from your instrumental track, maybe then it's worth checking... no offense... those two don't match up at all. Other track: digging the percussion, needs some eq'ing. wobble is pretty good , some of the bells are totally out of tune tho :)

- Eraredux: Big basses man, I'd take that first track in your sig back in your DAW , try to fit stuff abit more together, have a nice cohesion between all elements in your tune. Imo it's gonna be a pretty damn solid track then.

-kaiori : absolutely not into 8-bit , but it's well produced man, mixdown sounds good too.

-basic A: first tune is waaay too empty for my taste, i really really dig those sub slides though, fat stuff :) Second tune: think the sub is a tad too loud/overwhelming. Nice feeling overall, keys were good and the percussion was really clean (something that seems to be rare these days) Well done

-dubplateguy: agreeing with basic A, stuff's changing abit too much , the groove gets lost. Sound samples and synths are cool, as i stated up i absolutely hate 8-bit music but that's just personal taste.

-urbannerd62: tight purple feeling indeed, quality on soundcloud will always be 128kbps , i really loved the bass that dropped after your drop, but the uptempo part is imo abit a downpoint.. Overall real tight production man, could go for a Joker if you ask me :)

-nftfhx: vocals matched the bass really good, mixdown could use some work, especially your kickdrum gets totally drowned by the bass. Rest is a pretty beast remix man

-RightOnTime: like the percussion and the funny bassline :D dunno if it was intended to be funny but i find it pretty funny :lol: second drop was more serious tho, pretty raw

Siderealdb:
Super cinematic!!! Love the drums nice variation and sounds. Of course the choir sample makes this tune. Nice energy boost around 2:00! The mix actually sounds pretty good so good job.

WeBang: wasnt feeling the intro then the lead synth came in---wooooo nice! then the buildup after is nicely placed, cool arrangement. nice changeups throughout. I like at 2:17 when the synth stutters up- very bouncy! My only criticism would be to take out or change the "electricity" sound effect that comes in sometimes- that sounds just been rinsed imo. Also when it goes into a 4x4 beat, try doubling up the hats to add more energy. This ones a win!

Droneproductionz: nice work for one of your first! Well arranged. Not so sure about the south park sample but it's jokes! The buildup to around 2:45 is nice but it doesn't drop hard enough! Try to bring the volume of the build down so that the drop seems relatively louder.

Love the switch at 1:30 or so in......good tune like the beat of the drums. I like all music this isn't really something I always listen to butI still dig what you got going. I think a little arangement issues wold solve everything. before a 1:30 everything seems a little out a place in spots with the drums

well i have shown this track too a few people and they have liked it, and i really wanted a producers point of view thats why i posted it. i learn alot better from advice given by producers than reading pages of infromation. I posted it because i wanted more professional feedback, otherwise i wouldn't know were im going wrong

We bang, ur welcome ;)

and drone , no harm meant it's just that you need an ear for your own tunes too (not that im too confident with my own productions all the time, it's always good to have an honest opinion), but what i mean is i knew that my first productions weren't that great so i only came to post here if i had finished something that was worth being reviewed by fellow producers. But best of luck for your future productions :)

Preview of my new track, gonna be sending this to a couple labels before releasing the full version i think 8)

@reignz

harsh words but i guess necessary for my growth as a producer, the vocals were a pain in the ass i know it won't seem like it but i spent 20 plus hours on the track and consider it to be one of my bests. It was more of the concept than the execution as I know it's not as near polished as it should be and i suppose i will take another stab at quantizing the vocals it's just really tedious and i want to move on. when you said seperating the vocals from the instrumental did you mean just dropping the remix aspect and have the track be just some regular dubstep? cause that could work too.

also could you point me to an EQing post because i'm completely clueless when it comes to eqing the sounds compressing the drums etc.

your tunes are sick, deep dark and spacious with tons of different wobble in the breakdowns, definitely a producer i look up to and even tho you didn't love it thanks for checking my work out... :t:
