Then its a when for everybody except for garethom.

that is pretty stupid.

i just highly doubt that any of these hold half step productions are ever coming out

why put out old tunes in which you've already released tunes in the same vein that are 100x better. what purpose would it serve?

I really don't think that it's ever getting released either. I think the only possibility of us getting our hands on it is if he gives it away for free on the day he quits the music business :P

Because in my opinion, at least, this is one of Loefah's best tunes. In fact loads of his better tunes are still unreleased.

And why does anyone release tunes? Because there's people out there that wanna hear them and play them.

I also don't quite understand why producers take the effort of making a tune, and then just never release it. I completely understand that they keep bangin tunes to themselves for maybe a year or two so they could play it at raves exclusively, but why wouldn't you release it? Loads of people want to have and hear it, which is an appreciation to your work, then why not do them a favor?
Same goes for all the Burial collabs, it's great he's doing them and every1 that dislikes Skrillex is dying to hear them, but they just never come out, most of 'em have never even been played on the radio... why do the effort then? Why bring 2 talented producers together to make a serious masterpiece, for... well... nothing?

Maybe there is a perfectly good reason for such things, but I just honestly don't understand it.

I recon his best tunes are out on DMZ. Dubs get romanticized. Case and point - Just A Beat. Big tune, but since it was given away nothing much has happened with it.

What did you expect to happen, every man and his dog to cut it to dubplate and start playing it?

It did the rounds as a dub, so all the big producers have had the play with it. Loefah gave it away for free. Now we've all got it. It's not even like it was a big song and dance about it either. It was a low-key little give away on forum. Maybe if he'd have released it on DMZ then we'd hear more smaller DJs dropping it. I'd bet loads don't even know it's out there.

That's not even getting started on how much better Midnight is. It's a legendary tune for a reason.

As everyone says this is not going to get a release.

Personally this is my fav dubstep track if I had it i'd def rinse it to fuck and to be honest I probably wouldnt really play it too much after 2 month's. Midnight is what it is because we can't get our hand's on it! Years ago DJ EZ had his dub of Sonique's - Feel So Good stolen and someone went out and pressed it. I bought it but the track didnt have that factor any more. I probably played it a handfull of times and in the end just went further and further back in my record box until I just remembered it just now.

Also Loefah is moving in a different direction now he has Swamp 81 on the go which is doing well. He's having some decent release's there, rinse fm and he's playing out. He aint worried about a track he built 6/7 years ago, I mean he can probably appreciate the fact he has made one hell of a banger and the reaction it's had but the scene has evolved from then and people have moved on.

I mean if even Loefah has admitted his own copy is dead and oneman's aswell he aint too bothered about it otherwise he would make sure he had a copy or got it from somewhere at least.

What he said ^

Love this tune but if it was going to be released then it should of been a long time ago.
This is quite a special tune due to the fact that it is unreleased and is one of them tracks that will be played in the dance on a rare occasions and when it does, my days.

Imagine if Goat stare/root/ruffage/mud/system had never been released!! Easily 5 of the best tunes to come out of the scene. Midnight doesn't touch either of them imo

I honestly see and understand the points you guys are making but I can't fathom why you wouldn't want a nice copy for yourself to be able to play from edge to edge, on vinyl. It obviously can't capture the history of tune and it's impact on the scene but fuck, it's better than only hearing it in tinny little radio recordings and if you're one of the lucky few who ever get to catch it in the dance.

In a way, it'd be a little bit of history in your hands.

And even if you allow all that. Allow all the 'it's in the past', etc, it's still a shite-side better than loads of tunes that get released these days. Why wouldn't you wanna play it? It's a banger.
