Finally bought this over the weekend, Special Edition with all the 4 add on packs and both pre-order special packs (Gun Runners' Arsenal and Courier's Stash) included and installed from the start, fucking LUSH

Install all 4 packs from the start and you have a shit ton of extra items in your inventory from the get-go, think I've got some lightweight metal armour that doesn't seem to degrade and a water canteen which means you never have to 'drink' whilst it's in your inventory.

you guys should get it on pc, so many amazing mods that make the game that much more enjoyable...
I'm proud of the fact that i've beaten all of the legendary monsters.
Rawr fucking pissed me off tho. must have run in there like 30-40 times before i got him.

Did you make the Fist of Rawr after you killed him? That gauntlet looks badass

My PS3 just got the yellow light of death while playing New Vegas.
Real bummer, especially b/c Ive been grinding the fuck out of Lonesome Road. Was in the process of walking out of lonesome road with 2000+ worth of weight.
PS3 is about 4 years old and I've used it near daily. It was bound to happen eventually...

This is true.
I mainly blame Fallout New Vegas. The game is such a beast and my save file is probably over 16mb. Game play slows down and freezes all the time and I'm constantly restarting the PS3 to continue on in FO:NV.

Picked this up last week for 20 quid, been smashing it non stop. Going through the game on medium being a good boy. The 'hardcore' setting the game offers you at the beginning piqued my interest. The game is rock fucking hard even on the settings with the guns I have at the minute.
Doing the 'Come Fly With Me' quest, which starts off easy and gets a little bit shit towards the end.

Couldn't even touch the Deathclaw nests on Medium early on, ridiculous. Yeah, Come Fly With Me is a bit of a shit quest...spent the first part of it getting my legs blown off by those fucking hidden mines in the basement.
Over the bank holiday weekend, I managed to get through all of Dead Money DLC (ridiculously difficult in places, the last mission was insane) and Honest Hearts (amazing, beautiful to look at...equivalent of Point Lookout in terms of missions/size).
Currently just starting Old World Blues, which has a humourous mad scientist vibe to everything, and some sick weapons

I'm going to ask you something noob, now.
I bought the Special Edition game for my 360. It's got the add on's and shit. How do I, like, use them? Or are they automatically there when you start the game? I have never had Xbox live, although I'm getting it soon.

And yeah, I ventured to Sloan and heard about the DeathClaws, but I remember them from the previous game and understandably shit myself. Even the Giant Radscorpions used to give me a bit of jib, but now I be pelting them in the Head with my Shotgun Surgeon perk from close, innit.

Basically chuck the second disc into the xBox and load everything onto your HDD, then whenever you next start the game properly you'll get messages telling you new radio beacons/alerts/locations have been detected, and the opening quests for each DLC get added to your Pipboy.

I ended up camping up the top of the main digger tower unit Quarry Junction and headshotting all of them with the Anti-Material rifle and AP rounds.

Oh fuck me, does the DLC work halfway through a game though or will it only work when I start a new one? Coz' I don't none too much fancy doing another 20 hours from the beginning just now.
Only now just now really figured out how to play Caravan, can't believe I was skint and selling fucking junk to buy ammo when this game was available. It's a piece of piss.

Yeah, it works from the time you install it...you won't have to start a new game.
[That being said, if you installed all the DLCs (inc. Couriers Pack & Gun Runners Arsenal) from the start, you get a shit ton of weapons/armour/items when you start the game]

lonesome road is sick, proper creepy vibes on it. has some bits that you wont expect.
old world blues is the best imo, the fun/dark personality of everything just makes me shit my pants every time i go there
honest hearts is beautiful, i did it when I was like level 40 and the amount of high level weapons the tribesmen drop is pretty dumb tbh, really good dlc tho. make sure you pick up this
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Survivalist's_rifle and get the serviceman perk, shit is insane.
never got round to doing dead money, but apparently the holorifle with all the upgrades is pretty good

Only thing I didn't like about Honest Hearts was that it was too short to run through the story missions...Survivalists rifle is hype though. And the war club with all the upgrades is jokes.
Trainrek wrote:never got round to doing dead money, but apparently the holorifle with all the upgrades is pretty good
Eh, it was okay. Not spectacular, and pretty fucking linear in terms of the mission structure. Holorifle is a bit so so, even fully upgraded I don't really use it all that much.
