dear op:
everything on here is so technical because we make electronic music using our computers.
p.s.
it's not even that technical.

the only worthwhile thing i ever got from art/music classes was techniques and history
never anything that lent in the least bit to the non technical side to my painting, drawing, sculpture, comp work, or music
like i said before you can teach techniques as they are tangible
emotions and motivations behind something you can't as it's internal and varies person to person and if you think you can that's just pretentious

you can lead a horse to water...
yep, some people are great engineers and technicians, but they make the most generic copy cat drivel
best to equip yourself with the best skills and tools you can, the rest should flow naturally, it one of those things you either have or you don't there's no teaching or learning it

at the same time, if you went to art school and felt that all you learned was "techniques and history," then you really missed out

yea in high school
was always interesting getting graded on a piece of art -w-
oh well always managed to land in art showings and such when i did my own thing anyways
just to me personally some people get way too pretentious when it comes to discussing and analyzing art of any form
to me a well put together piece of art will convey the emotions and influences in it without needing an explanation
while the stories behind some things are interesting as hell i think it all can just be summed up as life being expressed when other methods fail

Oh I gives up. I can't handle people who have no clue what they're on about trying to belittle me then when I fight back calling me pretentious.

Locked.

hanging up my moddin' badge as well - you lot have made this a god awful place to contribute to these days.

Edit: actually i'll unlock it so people can post alpaca pictures and bring this back to the groundhog day of forums.
