I don't think it's going that way. I think the Army is more sympatheic to the people (read: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12330169). Probably what makes or breaks the whole thing really. There's just a danger of it turning to a Police vs Army civil war.. :(

Whoever controls the army controls the country in Arab countries. Unless something changes in that regard, nothing will change.

The bad news is, if someone breaks that line it will likely be someone in the military and Egypt stands a chance of becoming a military state.... which even briefly will destabilize the region for quite a while.

Really impressive protests today.
"Al Arabiya TV is now reporting that President Hosni Mubarak will say in a speech that he will step down at the next election but will stay in office till then to meet demands of protesters in that period."

now that the hip social media revolution of the year is over with, anyone got any opinions on a terrorist organization taking control of Lebanon?

I'm not the best placed to talk about hezbollah with any real authority but i was at one point romantically involved with a lebanese girl (who shortly after, returned to lebanon) and i know she certainly was not a fan of them... to put it lightly

to be honest, I don't really care for the politics or international relations or any of that, my only real concern about the whole situation is that she is safe

Most Lebanese people aren't. Hezzbollah are Shi'a which makes up about 20% of the Lebanese population.... yet they have the manpower and pollitical clout to take over a country?

How you ask? Iran, 95% Shi'a, forcing their hand in a country.
