being a freeman and working a "normal" job aren't mutually exclusive.laurent__duval wrote:one of my mates is always banging on about being a freeman and all that jazz. i think its especially funny when she's just come off a lengthy spell on the dole to go and work for her dad who's main source of income is government funded.
in all honesty if 99% of people in this country tried to be a proper freeman and go live off the land somewhere they wouldn't last 2 months.

well it depends on the particular freeman in question. not all are obviously going to be the same, some will pay their taxes, some won't.laurent__duval wrote:symmetricalsounds wrote:being a freeman and working a "normal" job aren't mutually exclusive.laurent__duval wrote:one of my mates is always banging on about being a freeman and all that jazz. i think its especially funny when she's just come off a lengthy spell on the dole to go and work for her dad who's main source of income is government funded.

is it not a bit hypocritical to be a freeman and use public, government paid for roads to get to work, use mains electricity, watch tele etc etc? surely its all or nothing?
this what i'm saying... all or nothing baby!symmetricalsounds wrote:well it depends on the particular freeman in question. not all are obviously going to be the same, some will pay their taxes, some won't.laurent__duval wrote:symmetricalsounds wrote:being a freeman and working a "normal" job aren't mutually exclusive.laurent__duval wrote:one of my mates is always banging on about being a freeman and all that jazz. i think its especially funny when she's just come off a lengthy spell on the dole to go and work for her dad who's main source of income is government funded.

if they don't pay any taxes, which is practically impossible seeing as noone can really avoid VAT, then yeah you could call that person hypocritical.
no cos there is every shade of grey inbetween, some freeman may be happy to pay the taxes that seem right to them but still are willing to contest other issues.laurent__duval wrote:this what i'm saying... all or nothing baby!symmetricalsounds wrote:well it depends on the particular freeman in question. not all are obviously going to be the same, some will pay their taxes, some won't.laurent__duval wrote:symmetricalsounds wrote:being a freeman and working a "normal" job aren't mutually exclusive.laurent__duval wrote:one of my mates is always banging on about being a freeman and all that jazz. i think its especially funny when she's just come off a lengthy spell on the dole to go and work for her dad who's main source of income is government funded.

yeh your right it depends on the situation but cus u said 60 i thought you meant a normal road as motorways are 70. but obviousily the laws gotta be there because dickheads who drive like stnuc deserve what they getclifford_- wrote:even when theres no one else about, and your only gonna hurt yourself?deesee wrote:yupdubmatters wrote:I've almost been done doing 110 in a 60 do I deserve to be punished?*deesee wrote:if your doing 60 in a 30, u deserve to be punished
fair enough you do that shit outside a shcool, you deserve to get banned/put in prison.
but on the motorway, at night, on your own, i cant see how this would hurt anyone?
Fine as long as you can gurantee there is no one about. As soon as there is one person, which inevitably there will be, then you should be observing the speed limit.deesee wrote:yeh your right it depends on the situation but cus u said 60 i thought you meant a normal road as motorways are 70. but obviousily the laws gotta be there because dickheads who drive like stnuc deserve what they getclifford_- wrote:even when theres no one else about, and your only gonna hurt yourself?deesee wrote:yupdubmatters wrote:I've almost been done doing 110 in a 60 do I deserve to be punished?*deesee wrote:if your doing 60 in a 30, u deserve to be punished

If you're interested in that you should watch the Zeitgeist documentary series, even more of an eye-opener since it details how the whole worlds capitalist economic system works!pulsar wrote:big up GV1, nice thread... good to see that this stuff is getting about. i knew about a fair bit about what happens when you give your details to the police and about statutes etc.. but i just watched that 5-part John Harris vid and learned a lot more - the bit about registration and how we submit ownership of everything is a proper eye-opener

yeah i've seen the shiteguise films thanks... they do reveal a lot of truth about monetary systems etc (which i was already aware of) but they mix it in with a lot of lies and deceit... i'm gonna sound bare tinfoil hat crew here but it stinks of illuminati / new world order if you ask me. i think zeitgeist and the venus project are basically cults and these films are brainwashing tools. i could go into it but it's looooong.... do a bit of research for yourself if you can be botheredtest recordings wrote:If you're interested in that you should watch the Zeitgeist documentary series, even more of an eye-opener since it details how the whole worlds capitalist economic system works!pulsar wrote:big up GV1, nice thread... good to see that this stuff is getting about. i knew about a fair bit about what happens when you give your details to the police and about statutes etc.. but i just watched that 5-part John Harris vid and learned a lot more - the bit about registration and how we submit ownership of everything is a proper eye-opener

Looks good, cheers, will check it out! Freud tried to do the same thing and this also sounds similar to the aforementioned 'Ecopsychology' book (which, I suppose, is a self-reflection on the commercial face of the military-industrial complex).danrev wrote:or even better watch The Corporation.
As polemics go it seems relatively well researched and has alot of good views from both sides of the corporate wall.
